Okay, so this goes along with a story that my cousin and I are writing, where Remus is still alive, and a whole lot of other stuff, which has pretty much NOTHING to do with this drawing. And since I'm SOOO nice, I'll give you this scene's story!

He had fallen in battle. There was no sign of life in his body, so he was taken to where they were laying out the bodies of their fallen comrades, in the Great Hall. And yet...faintly, and growing stronger..."thump...thump-thump...thump-thump..." Life was fluttering in his chest. Blood began to flow out of his wounds, and with a gasp, his hazel eyes opened. He struggled to sit up, and looked around him at the bodies on the floor.

"Dory?" he called anxiously. He was about to call his wife's name again, when he looked down at his right...and saw his wife's still, cold body. Tears began to flow down his cheeks, and he shook silently. He could also see the bodies of Fred and other friends, but was caught up in the grief of his wife's death. Only she and one other woman besides his mother had ever said that she loved him, only she had basically forced him into marriage to try to make him happy. And now, this bright, happy soul, was gone.

"Remus? Remus, you're alive?!" He looked up to see a haggard George run up to him with Ron, whom he hadn't seen for almost a year.

"Come on, let's get you patched up, mate." The two brothers, both with tear streaks on their faces and bandages on their faces and arms got on either side of the distraught man, and lifted him to his feet, leading him to where many people were having their wounds treated.

"So, Voldemort's gone...that's good..." Remus said quietly. The Weasleys had filled him in on what had happened while he was gone. He could see Harry through the window, heading towards the Black Lake with Ginny, but there was no sign of his twin, Mareian. He frowned, concerned about her. "Where's Mareian?" There was no response, and he turned around to face the boys. "Well?"

"She...was kind of hurt pretty badly..." Ron mumbled. "Madam Pomfery had her taken to the hospital wing."

"How bad was it?!" Remus asked the young man urgently. "Can I see her?"

"If she WANTS to see you," George muttered. He glared at the older man, who turned to him. Mareian had been George's girlfriend during her fourth and sixth year, and had told him about how her love for the gentle werewolf had been rejected. That rejection had changed her, made her more withdrawn. He didn't want that elfin girl to be emotionally hurt anymore, and would even defend her against a family friend.

"I'll just have to see." Remus shoved himself to his feet, and walked down the corridors as quickly as he could, sometimes placing a hand on the wall to keep himself from falling down. His years as a Marauder served him well in using shortcuts to the hospital wing.

Once there, he walked quietly in. The beds were all full of injured and softly moaning people. Curtains were drawn around most of the beds, and he almost thought that he wouldn't be able to find her, but...there. He caught a slight scent of her lily and lavender perfume. Softly, he pulled aside the curtains around her bed, and sat on the edge of her bed.

His heart wrenched at the sight of bandaging around her neck and arms, the patch on her jaw. She was paler than usual, making her russet hair stand out, and her long, dark lashes rested against her high cheekbones.

"Mareian...I'm so sorry..." he murmured miserably, holding her hand to his cheek. Her eyes flew open in astonishment, and he was entranced by their deep emerald color, so like her mother's.

"R-Remus?" she whispered huskily. Tears started to gather in her eyes, and she swiftly shut them, trying not to cry. She'd seen his body lying next to Nymphadora's, and had despaired, thinking that he was dead. No matter how much it had hurt her to have her love turned away, she'd still been crushed to see him lying like that. "I thought that you were dead!"

"I'm so sorry, Mareian," he said again, his hazel eyes miserable as they roamed over her face. "I'm sorry for everything."

"Don't be," she murmured, caressing his cheek. "I'm glad that you're alive."
