Wow Sherrie, this is really cool.... I noticed you mentioned tons of lightening!...... what i usually do in a circumstance like this, is bracket the exposures, trying to expose the body of the light house on one, and the light from the top in the other, then blend them together on layers! using the base exposure of the body of the light house as the bottome layer, and adjusting the opacity of the top layer to suit! sorry if i overstepped!

thanks for the advice I need loads of it, and will try that in future, I dont think it would have worked in this case though seriously the building was ohhhhhhhhh sooooooo dark I had problems seeing it never mind a lens, I took around 20 shots in raw using many settings but all came out just as dark

I really like the ghostly shape rising out the darkness, complete with the beacon on top. Cool lighthouse, and cool picture It looks very surreal.

thanks it took alot of work just to get the lighthouse to show I had no light to work with, hense the hours of post processing

thanks, it is a nice lighthouse, the only problem was I took the shot before the light had even begun to come up, apart from the beacon there was no light at all loads of post work was involved to get the building itself to show
