Description Well, this took WAY longer than it was supposed to. Just some insignia for the various ranks adopted by the planetside forces of the United Sovereignty military. All three branches, the Shields, Vanguard, and Sentinel-Guard use this system. I don't have everything perfected yet, but here's a basic overview of the ranks themselves and the responsibilities of the individuals who hold them:

Lieutenant - The first of commissioned officer ranks, Lieutenants will serve as the commanders to lower ranks and their units, like Centurions or Unit Officers.
Lieutenant Primoris - With greater experience and more command power, the Lieutenant Primoris will also serve as second-in-command to a Captain.
Captain - Captains guide Lieutenants, and will begin to work alongside similarly ranked individuals within the Navy to deploy large groups of soldiers planetside.
High Captain - High Captains guide regular Captains, and will serve as students to the next rank above.
Major - With much greater command power, Majors hold power over "battalions" (roughly 17,200 soldiers).
High Major - High Majors guide regular Majors, command the largest version of a battalion (roughly 26,000 soldiers), and will often work alongside Navy Captains.
Legate - Legates serve as the direct leader to Majors, often commanding "legionets" (86,000 soldiers)
High Legate - A step up from the previous rank, High Legates command "brigades (345,000 soldiers), and serve as assistants/advisors to the next rank above.
Commandant - These powerful individuals will often serve as the highest ranked officer within a planetary system, and manage the activities of lesser officers.
Commandant Primoris - A direct advisor to the next highest rank, and a leader to lower, a Commandant Primoris commands "legions" (11-13 million soldiers).
Imperator - A type of "lord", Imperators guide and give orders to Commandants, often managing the military presences 5 or more solar systems.
Imperator Secundus - A more experienced Imperator, these individuals may command more systems.
Imperator Tertius - Similar to the previous rank, but with even greater power and influence.
Imperator Sublimis - Often a direct advisor to the rank above, the Imperator Sublimis directs other lesser Imperators.
Imperator Primoris - The highest ranking "Imperator", the Imperator Primoris is a master of command and may lead as many as 100 or more star systems.
Admiral - Truly among titans, an Admiral will command a small board of Imperators.
High Admiral - Directly subservient to the rank above, though a commander to those below, the High Admiral is an extremely influential individual.
Lord Admiral - Traditionally the highest rank achievable within the USN military, a Lord Admiral commands all planetside military assets within an entire Nation, which can amount to well over 10,000 star systems. There are only 136 planetside Lord Admirals (one for every Nation), and they work alongside their Navy counterparts within the Atlas, a type of military high council.

Oh, I'm not going to be making a video game, no. For now I'm just doing illustrations and a little bit of written lore bits, but sometime in the future I plan to write some legitimate novels set in the series I'm creating.

You are really HEAVY in ranks.  You don't need that much rank in each level.

Well, when you're a hyper advanced military from a multi-galactic empire in a setting many thousands of years into the future from now... you kinda need a few extra levels in your command structure. If anything, I was honestly thinking that I had gone a bit light on this.
