A redo of one of my old posts from 2019 or so. Definitely took a little bit of inspiration from Gambargin and his works on 'historically inaccurate' warrior women. My original post was fairly mediocre (even for my skill at the time), so I'm quite happy with how this version turned out.

Pictured above is a member of the Shield corps, the United Sovereignty of Nation's primary planet-side military force. The vast majority of her kit is typical of a Shield rifleman, with a full set of Aegis-Pattern armor and accompanying equipment. However, she has swapped out the standard issue Hauberk-Pattern combat fatigues with the more distinctive Matrika-Pattern variant. Essentially a pleated longcoat, this particular piece isn't much different in concept, but provides the wearer with a more unique visage, as well as a slightly greater degree of protection due to the garb's projectile resistant weave adding another layer over the lower half of the body. Through a unique combination of cultural, religious, and historical inspirations/interpretations, a trend has emerged throughout the Sovereignty, with many referring to those who choose to wear this particular garment (mostly women) as "Matrikas." This nickname has garnered a generally positive reception, with some regions of the Sovereignty assigning an air of prominence or grace to those who chose to don the appearance of a "Matrika." Some examples of famous Matrika women throughout the Sovereignty's recent history include Lord Admiral Sydranna Rook, Lance Centurion Rhiannon Somayeh, and Imperator Anastazja-Anne Tabak.
For weapons, the individual pictured above is wielding a standard issue M-20 Scalprus submachine gun and a MK-2 Combat Mace.
