Sleeping Beauty was always one of my favorite Disney films. I nearly wore out our copy on Beta-Max.I picked the pink version so I wouldn't blend in with any Cinderella costumes at Dragon*Con 2008. I am very proud of the bodice since it was a lot of trial and error with muslin before I figured out something that looked nice. The costume is built over a Victorian corset for the appropriate tiny-Disney-waist.

If I may be so bold as to say--tiny waists are cool--men love to put their arms around them. But don’t do to yourself what urban legend says women did to themselves back in the day. Excessive corseting caused atrophying of the muscles. In extreme cases--so I’ve heard--the upper body could no longer be held upright without the corset.
Men love a good stout armful also--like Beverly Sills, the diva. Or Brunhilde, the Valkerie. Or the gal in “The Student Prince”--whatever her name is.
And now that I’ve embarrassed myself, I’ll just say--good work on the costume. Very Disney-esque.
and one of my fav Disney films--Philip vs Malificent's Dragon. Aurora's song--"I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream--" etc.
