I like Vista too, my old Medion laptop had Vista Home Basic, but I got a lot out of it; and yes Vista is a bit slow and is buggy with a strict UAC but I enjoyed it and each Windows OS had its flaws but there are fixes for them.

I don't know, I prefer windows 7 over windows vista, but I prefer windows vista over windows XP any day!

I still think its better than a MAC (they confuse the shit out of me, Vista doesn't). But I am going to get the upgrade disk for windows 7 once my computer is fixed. They need to terminate Vista completely

Vista is a pain to use, but XP and Windows 7 is the best to use.

Vista is such a hog on the RAM and Hard drive (still looking for that 20 G's that's missing XD
But it's so pretty I mean the browser is Transparent. XD

it has a big core (64 bit version uses 23 GB)
it performs awesome when you install SP2 sometimes better than 7

While the stats on my pc would reflect what you've said I still find that everything works faster than on my old XP machine. I've still got 2-3GB Ram to play with (out of 4GB total) and you always lose a percentage of your hard drive, it depends how big it is as to how many GB's therefore, I think I've lost nearly 30GB on my 500GB drive.
It is a great system to work on, everything seems to flow well, and I've not even had to reinstall since I first got my machine a couple of years ago

I think Vista gets a lot better once you turn off UAC and disable the background programs.

I see, well there's your major problem, the RAM isn't really enough to run Vista properly, its the minimum yes, but personally I would always suggest 2GB minimum, its not expensive anymore either, you can pick up 2GB of DDR2 for about ยฃ30 now.

I managed to successfully install Vista on my 5 year old desktop without a single problem and still no problems to date. Perhaps Vista has trouble running on new hardware lol

Funny how everyone hated XP and then when Vista came out everyone decided they really loved XP after all and switched to hating the new guy.

It always happens, people believe the hype about bugs. I've been running vista for 9 months now and I've had no bugs and no viruses. Absolutely nothing wrong with vista, it runs perfectly with the right hardware
