Konno Yuuki: (Angel)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey everyone!
More updates for my Konno Yuuki cos! This is probably the most complicated costume I've made to date. I'll wait on providing construction details until I upload a full body shot, though, haha.
I debuted this cosplay at Anime LA 2015, which was a blast! Granted, it was my first time going to a convention without the other half of Angelywen, Lymin. Luckily, I made a lot of new friends! Shoutout to AndrewBlackSwordsman and Mithrildragon, as well as a lot of other people I hope to see again soon!
The next time Lymin and I will be together as a cosplay team will probably be Anime Expo 2015...but as for myself, there is the possibility that I'll be attending conventions outside the state of California......or even out of the country...
but only time will tell Until next time!
I would so love know how to make her costume but don't even know where i should start. Any chance of maybe a tutorial or tips and advice ^_^
This is the best Yuuki cosplay I've ever seen. You suit her perfectly
Oh~I did write up an explanation of how I constructed it! You can find it here: www.acparadise.com/acp/display…
Let me know if you want any tips or advice though~I dunno if my explanation is actually that helpful
And thanks a ton it means a lot to me
Oh thanks
I'll be sure to asking alot of questions
I have one I'm curious as how did you make the top jump suit part of the costume? I have been looking at nylon which seems stretchy enough.
I'm sure you will explain quite well
Sorry for the late reply!
I'm not entirely sure what type of fabric it is since I got it from what I guess you would call a fabric "thrift store", but I think it's some sort of cotton/spandex blend~the kind stretchy t-shirts are made from? Hope that helps
Thanks that helps.
Umm...  How did you do the sleeves? Did you break down into parts and sew together? In others sleeves then place the red strip over and then cover off the edges with a yellow trim/bias tape?
Sorry for all the questions.
Sorry I'm just working through the costume kinda slowly and at the sleeves. I'm hoping to finish this costume on time for a con I'm going to and Well it's kinda the first costume I'm sewing myself.
Alright, cool!
For the sleeves, that's pretty much what I did! Two separate sleeves, the back piece, and I attached the three together with the red strip before sewing the bias tape around the edges. It was probably the hardest part and therefore that which I am most proud of, haha
Ooh, awesome! And uwahhh, this is your first costume!?  Props to you for picking SAO. Definitely not the easiest thing to sew but I have faith in you!
Ya did amazing on the costume ^_^
Thanks so much.
Haha I always wanted to be Yuuki and always wanted to sew my own costume. So I guess starting here is something. Well I've only been cosplaying a year now and had bought my costumes in the past so Yuuki will be my first stitched costume I done myself. Also the con I am going to next weekend has Stephanie Sheh and she voiced Yui in SAO. I hope I get the costume done on time though. Con is next week haha, feeling the pressure but should be worth it.
So far it's the gloves and sleeves that is taking so long. Any advice on making the gloves? The main trouble i'm having is when i stitch the edge and then go to try them on they are much too tight.  Belts are not so bad. I do worry when it comes to the suit and skirt.
Hoping to do the sword today. Nearly getting there yaay!
haha I know that now but sure learn alot in making it. Aww... It won't be as amazing as yours but I'll be sure to post pics here. Been posting WIP pics on my craft page tho lol So far kinda happy on sleeves but they kept slipping so I attached elastic so they stay on my arm. Even if the band will keep it in place I always get paranoid on these things lol
Aw, thanks! and no problem!
Oh, cool! Did you hear the recent announcement that Erica Mendez is Yuuki's VA?
Hmmm, what type of material are you using for the gloves? I used the same stretchy material as the leotard so it ended up fitting alright even though my sewing/cutting wasn't the straightest
No I didn't, wow I can't wait to her the voice now. The only voice I know of she had done is Sailor Uranus.
I'm using a purple spandex/nylon fabric. It's the only stretchy fabric I could get or even order from a store near me. Well from the site any ways. The fabric stores near me are terrible.
I tried making gloves with poly cotton but after like 5 attempts I gave up on it and thought stretchy would be best.
I'm taking a whack in sewing the bias tape on sleeves and OMG I hate it already. So tricky to sew on. I always seem to have trouble sewing in a straight line. Looks ok when I'm sewing but when finish and I take a look at it I go what the hell happened O.o
Still I managed to sew all the bias tape onto one sleeve and it kinda made me happy on the result. I just hope I make the costume on time for the con. I'd prob bring a sewing kit with me coz I'd prob get paranoid the stitching would rip.
