Done for 2D Design class! Ehh, I'm not really sure how I feel about this one xD; despite The Hanged Man itself being my favorite tarot card I think this is my least favorite of what I've done so far.. >>; I'll try reworking it later if I have time. mm I threw random level adjustments on it so it wouldn't be so blah XDD But yeah, The Hanged Man can represent sacrifice and acceptance and passivity, giving up or being taking advantage of.Next is.. the fool! >>; to be created.

I love tarot cards, though I'm a card player rather than a card reader. I don't know why you're not happy with this, I think it's excellent - tarot images with any oringinality are few and far between and this is certainly not a version we've seen before! The voilence of the card fits rather with its history. It was the French card makers who first labeled this "The Hanged Man" and puzzled over his being suspended upside-down. However, in tarot's native Italiy, this card was called "The Traitor" because that's how the Italians executed traitors, haning them by one foot until they met what must have been a slow, painful, and undignified end. (They often gaven them food and water while they lived to prolong their suffering)

Aiya! When I saw the description, I was wondering what pose you'd go for: upside-down, right-side-up, hanging from knees, etc. Those are some incredibly vindictive trees!

You know how I mentioned hands in your lover piece? Yeah...maybe you shouldn't have used the tree trunk hands thing...they are a bit too small to be menacing...let alone actually kill someone...maybe if they were more treelike?
I like how stylized this picture is, especially the vines and the texture in the background and on the guy's arms. The outline of the trees and the guy is strong and forceful. So overall it is an interesting image. In fact, I think I like your extremely stylized pics better than your realistic ones.
oh and one more thing, his legs are waaaay too long. (just from his head to his knee your guy is already six heads tall...please keep that in mind in your next piece... - -''

For the hands comment:

Well, they look like human hands, and tree hands with long branchy fingers are so traditional; plus, the part about them not looking menacing let alone kill someone, I think they look like they could. For thousands of years people have been killing with just their hands, and some hands have been small. I say, if the hand can fit around the throat, it's deadly
also, about the body length, people have different styles of anime, they don't ALL have to follow the traditional '
People have different styles not all of them have to be the same, if they were then it wouldn't be so fun to see/watch.
