Description the day after the rain...

had fun with this one. got some really good painting practice and theory out of this one. as far as line work, i tried to do more by doing less (*key word: tried to).

hope you guys like this one! it makes me happy on a cloudy rainy day (or the morning after in all its muckiness...)

nice, what did you do to make the rain drops look bright and glowy.

its all about difference in contrasts. The rain drops are next to colors that are less vibrant and hence they stick out. If i had the ground darker, then the light colored rain drops would be more "glowy" loookin

*and thank you! i personally love this one a lot

Great movement, shame her body isn't fully in frame. A better cropping (like making the pic longer in height) might have packed more punch, so to speak

Still, love those colours. And the way the background blurs and how in contrast some parts are really detailed- I think that's great

hmmmm i would have to agree with you about the height, i could have extended into the water, maybe had her reflection distorted in view and more detail to the ground in front of her....

great thinking and thank you for the compliment! i might consider doing that actually......

hmmmmmm... well its all done digitally,i used a bunch of rough brushes for the coloring of this one BUT there is a watercolor type brush in sai that does a wonderful job of blending (in the essence of watercolor).

so to answer your question...yes and no lol
*and THANK YOU! im glad you like my work!

This one is so sweet. It reminds me of myself cuz I love playing in the rain. lol
The lighting and colors are amazing as always. I love the subtle effects.
Plus I love how you make the girls in your drawings thick.
Makes me feel better about not being so stick thin :3
LOL

I really like the lack of lines in this. Makes it flow, I really think you achieved the right effect, even if you don't think so. It just looks so good.

And I'm really diggin' the softness. This looks so beautiful. ♥

thanx DK! i actually covered up the lines as best as i could with a paint layer. its strange how many lines make up what we draw but there are no lines in real life, just differences in colors and shades....
