Description I don't think anyone realises what kind of huge mental process i go trough with every upload. I think my biggest fear is bother someone else by spamming useless art into their watch-list.

If you see this as something like that I'm sorry.
The scrap section in my gallery relieves some of this anxiety because watching it is optional.
(I'm like the weirdest person for even saying this out loud.)

These scans were taken during the painting process then I fooled around in ps a bit to see where I wanted the painting to go to. Before the first image the painting was just a mess of bluish colors.

Photoshop was handy in testing where I wanted the highlights of the water to go to as second guessing in the painting stage would have made fixing errors on that area hellish to say at least.

I also took this piece with me and stood in front of the mirror to "flip the canvas". That's why I added more detail to the right bank and a bigger rock as the river was leading the eye right out of the picture rather than leading it in.

Why the hell would anyone want to see that mess so close you ask? That mess is why I still want to do traditional pieces between my digital ones.

Your painting looks amazing. Looking at this WIP makes me wish you had done it on video so I could actually SEE the technique.
Happy trees, anybody?

I worked on it on and off so that would be an endless amount of editing. Besides there's nothing special in the WAY I paint. It's just a lot of messing around and 80% fixing misakes and composition. And a lot of running around in front of the mirror.

When I first saw the full work, I was surprised you said it was traditional - the strokes and all look a lot like your digital works...

and I am even more surprised it is gouache and not acrylic or oil as from my limited experience with gouache I felt it must surely be a tortuous medium far more frustrating to work with than the other two :/

It is interesting to see how the piece went to a sort of gloomy, sun is just starting out, to, a feeling of almost celebration and stretching your arms for the new day. Either way, it is another reason why I love seeing your scraps, cause they never look like scraps, haha.

If someone thinks your submissions are spam, they wouldn't be watching you. But I'm sure no one thinks that. Your paintings are lovely and it's very clear that you put a lot of work into them.

Thank you. I must be over thinking the whole thing. It's like there's a quality control in my head that consists of an over critical Nazi panel or something.
