And now...something flat. It's based on a myth of about a goldfish. I think the fish is called delphico but my memory is so blurry I can't remember, sorry. Anyway the fish grants the wishes of those who see it and thus I painted the waterfall as a symbol of prosperity.Related content

This is really lovley. I like the simple, flat colors in natural tones and the clean composition, but I have to say I'm partial to those little mountiantops in the back with just a brush of brown and texture over them. Cool looking stuff.

Where did you get the insperation to draw this?.. its partly chinese old ways of paintings. The only class I know of are offered in chinese.

This is beautiful! Looks somewhat like pastels... those chalky ones; not oil. Is the story the one about the fish... who gets eaten? Like, a Chinese Cinderella, or something. It's the only Asian fairytale I can remember with a fish in it -_- Was a sad story. I always felt bad for the fishy. Good job ^^ Love the cherry blossom tree.

Oh oh OH! *Slaps you for being so good* Amazing! There's summet about this that's just grabbed me! It's beautiful, and the final bit of 'oomph' I need to push me into starting my Japanese art project! Do you know of any famous artists? I've studies Hokusai in the past, and was hoping to look at an artist who was more pen and ink based.
