Description Another speedie (45min) unlike the previous one I used refrence with this one. It's none other than my beautiful friend (go see her art ) I just finished one winter picture and made this so that my brains wouldn't jam. I think I'm starting to get the way palette knife works I didn't rotate the canvas at any point to keep the horisontal strokes thin. If anyone says anything bad about her I'll come to your house and beat you with a stick! Sorry that I didn't ask for your premission for this. I'll take it off if you don't like it.

Now: back to work.

absolutely love the shading, position and lack of definition that (somehow) leads to extra precision where it counts (strands of hair, hair pins...). beautiful!

An excellent study in lighting. It's simple, with few brush strokes, the shape and image given by the areas that are lighted in strong accents.

Great profile. I see you're mastering this technique, with a dark color as base and making a figure out from some lights.

Such a wonderfull and beautiful portrait of Juuhanna.
I could tell immediately that this is her. You portrayed her so well, and what makes the image even more beautiful is those colours you chose. I love that hair.

You are losing the pixelated look of your older paintings, and it's wonderful. You used to use this blots-of-color style where the picture was eventually resolved, but with very noticable and uncontrolled blobs. Now you seem to be controlling each line with precision. That might be partly because of painter, but the control you show in this piece seems to be a huge improvement in your work. Great job!

a bit repetitive, but yeah...light ....shadow... It's an unusual choice of coloration and lighting for a digital painting and I think it works extremely well, particularly having the faintest outline of light for the profile.

That picture can say so many things.. just being a bit critique here which i rarely am... i would have like to see a bit more outlining in the face... maybe a bit of her eyes.. quite beautiful i love the dark simplicity its like two lovers playing around in a dark hotel room as he paints her portriat

Oh, I don't mind at all! It's always a honour to have you make beautiful portrates of me! This is such a surprise, thank you so much. You're a real sweetie.
And thanks for the compliments, too.
I love the way you used the palette-knife on the hair; the shape and the texture looks just like that of real hair. *__* You're too good with Painter for your own good, raar!
