Description Ratatosk (or Ratatoskr) is a squirrel who delivers messages between Nidhogg (between the roots of Yggdrasil) and the Eagle who lives in the top of the World Tree. As far as we know, the Eagle doesn't have a name. Between the Eagle’s eyes sits Vedrfölnir, a hawk.

Nice job. Isn't most of the "messages" Ratatosk send mostly insults at one another, or did I get that wrong? Anyway, I think it's cool that Paolini included these guys in Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard.

Thank you! It's indeed mostly insults, I think. I didn't know Paolini had written anything else other than the series about Eragon. Is it worth checking out Magnus Chase?

lol I mixed up the authors, and didn't realize after the mistake. I mean Riordon, the author of the Percy Jackson series. His series tried to run with the idea that old pagan gods still exist and are very much alive. The series, "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," and "The Heroes of Olympus" are focused one Greek and Roman mythologies. "The Legacy of Kane," series is about the Egyptian Gods, and his newest series, "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard," is obviously his series on Norse mythologies. You've probably have heard of the book or movie, "The Lightning Thief" or "The Sea of Monsters," they are the first two additions of the Percy Jackson series. Here is the trailer for the Lightning Thief movie if you're curious. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsIVgb…
I'm still reading the Magnus Chase series, but I'm enjoying it so far. Yggdrasil is made to look enormous. The thinnest branches are as thick as Red Wood trees, the other branches are much, much thicker, and the trunk is described as being unbelievably thick. And Ratatosk with even trash talk those who enter the tree.

I've heard of the Percy Jackson series, but never read them. I'm quite interested in Egyptian mythology as well, so then I'll have to check out The Legacy of Kane too

I haven't read The Legacy of Kane yet, but I've read the Greek/Roman based series, and I'm working on the first Magnus Chase book. There's also a ton of humor in the books, especially in the chapter titles. Like the chapter that has Magnus' encounter with Ratatosk is called, "I Am Trash-Talked by a Squirrel."
