I have so long wanted to paint a picture like this, but I have always been bad at landscapes. I had a huge inspiration of this picture during summer and I wanted so hard to paint it. I used many many pictures of Yosemite park as a reference. I first wanted to use Finnish landscape, but it was impossible, because I wanted mountains and forest and we don’t have any big mountains in Finland.

This scene doesn’t actually exist in my book. (not yet at least) But if I could choose a cover for my book, it would be something like this.

It took me almost a week to find courage to colour the picture. I liked the line-art of the picture so much that I was scared that I ruin it during colouring. I chanced the title of the picture from Nini Hawkeye to Injyan. (The name of the forest in my book.) I thought it would suit the picture better.
I’m quite glad with the colouring. It is not perfect, but it’s the best I could do with my current skills. This is my first landscape that has really succeeded.

Edit: I rescanned the sky. It had bad wriggles in the old version.
