Also known as 'Bloody Mary' for the many people she had beheaded or burnt for being a heretic.

She was the first child of king Henry VIII of England and (his first wife) Catherine of Aragon.

After her father died in 1547, her half brother Edward became king. This unfortunate boy died at the age of 15 in 1553, leaving the crown not to one of his sisters, but to his first cousin once removed, Lady Jane Grey. But it didn't take long before Mary imprisoned her and had her beheaded.

So in 1553 Mary became Queen of England and brought England back to Rome. She had about 300 people burnt at the stakes, a massive amount. She ruled for 5 years, after which her half sister Elizabeth became queen.

Well, I think I have bored you enough with history now. How about a bit of info about the deviation itself? The pose is from an image I found somewhere around the internet, I can't remember where unfortunately. I picked a green dress because I think it would really fit her and the background is supposed to be a bit bloody-ish.
And that actually made it look christmassy! XD
