RebloggableI struggled with this prompt for K/S because I don't think it's entirely in-character. I really get the feeling that their relationship evolves in such a way that they wake up one day and realize they’ve become Space Husbands, rather than making any conscious decision.
This is my attempt at expressing that idea. They’re “married,” but it’s just another day for them. (Also, I think the crew just wanted to tape up the classic sign on the back of the command chair because that whole ship is full of dorks.)
Augh, that command chair is such a hybrid bastardization of the chairs from the Prime and Alternate universes...

I think drawing everyday helps... but also I think it's misleading b/c I'm basically drawing the same thing over and over...
So in reality, I'm just getting disproportionately better at drawing Kirk and Spock. XD

This is so great!!! XD i love the idea! I agree they probanly just woke up one day, started a very intimate morning ritual, finished each other sentences a few times, Jim took 2 cups of vulcan tea without even asking spock if he wanted...then they look at each other and knew they were married xD
Hahahah but sure the guys at enterprise wouldnt let it be casual....they probably hold them a party either way

O.O THAT. Is the most adorable thing. I've ever heard. omg.
In my headcanon, they never formally get married in any sense. However, I think, as they got older, they spent the vast majority of their time off together. Either in Iowa or on Vulcan. Of course, that's the Prime Universe. I think the Alternate Universe has an interesting potential for something more like a formal marriage -- their relationship in the AU is much more visceral, much harsher and more passionate than their easy companionship in the Prime Universe.

Hm, I agree that they probably never officialize things in the prime universe. But maybe a very small/personal ceremony? Spock and kirk prime seems much more formal than reboot. They have to tell sarek/amanda eventually, no?

I even wore my science insignia to my research group one day. It was glorious.
And my managers at work refer to me as "science officer" since my assistant manager uniform is blue. XD

Well, if you're in season 3, have you seen "The Empath" or "The Tholian Web" yet??? Those are two of my absolute favorite episodes.

"The Tholian Web" has some delicious space husbands material. I loooove it~! But it's also a really really good Triumvirate episode -- it highlights Spock and Bones' relationship in regard to Jim and it's really sad and powerful and awesome.
"The Empath" is similar. Plus, there's a REALLY OBVIOUS Spock -> Kirk scene in that episode. Like, Spock might as well have come right out and say, "I love this man, in case anyone is wondering." X3
