The bentos I packed for Kidlet's second grade field trip. I got to tag along this time! We got some envious looks from the bologna sandwich crowd. XDWe have matching bento boxes. Mine is black, the kid's is beige. Spam musubi bites, dumplings, and a separate box of strawberries to share. Kid loves those cheese bunny cutouts...
School is out for the year, so this is going to be the last bento for a while.

It is fun making those bentos, because my mom used to make them for me when I was small! It is nice to carry on the tradition.

I got these at a now closed online store, but they are all over the internet nowadays. If you live in a big city, you can find them at various Asian markets too.

xD your bentos are really pretty even though they're plain compared to the people who are used to making it.

The bentos I make get inhaled in 2 seconds by a small child with unwashed hands...so there really is not much point in making them super elaborate. XD
I enjoy looking at the really fancy bentos online, but do not have time or energy to make them myself. I am making another picnic one this week, so I will post pics!

I have bear, dinosaur and various sea life cutters too, but Kidlet only wants the bunny. The cheese bunny shows up in almost every bento.

Kidlet is the only Asian kid in class. Other kids seem to think that is pretty cool, especially when he gets lunches like this instead of a squished sandwich in a plastic baggie.

Wow! Your kidlet is lucky. When I was a child all I ever got in my lunch box was a sandwich, grapes and milk.
BTW: The other kids were making all that noise because they wanted lunches like those.
