No time for new pics for a couple days, so here is Kidlet's bento instead! I got started at 6:45 so that I will have time to take a photo. School bus arrives at 7:30. I don't usually get started until 7, and I also have to poke at the Kidlet twice to make sure he gets up, pick his outfit, and check for proper face washing...so usually the bento gets shoved in the backpack just as the schoolbus comes around the bend.Fried rice and dumplings, with a nice sprig of broccoli that will probably end up going uneaten. At least it looks pretty. Weather is getting warmer so he got a frozen juice pack today too.
edit: Wow, he ate the broccoli! Amazing.

Oh wow! I wish I was lucky enough to have a parent like you when I was a kid! (Not that my parents aren't great, but I lived with my bachelor dad and handicapped grandmother in elementary school. No time for awesome packed lunches like these.) If I get the will power to wake up early enough, I'm definitely packing lunches like these next semester!

My kid prefers these to cafeteria food. The bentos are actually not all that time consuming to make! The school year is almost over, but we will still be doing picnic bentos during the summer.

Thanks! This is really not very fancy, compared to what some other people are doing with bentos. But I try to make lunches that my kid would like to eat.

You could always make them for yourself...I think more than half of the people on the LJ bento community I follow make the bentos for themselves.

Ohhh, that looks tasty! How could he not like broccoli? It's one of the tastiest vegetables! When I was little, I'd pretend I was an apatasaurus eating an entire tree. I used to beg for broccoli... X3

I love broccoli too. But Kidlet is very picky about veggies...I have to "hide" the green stuff in fried rice or soups.

Daawww, Kidlet's lunch looks much better then any lunch I ever had..XD Then again, I always just wanted mustard on bread and would toss the bologna in the garbage...So cute!

Mustard on bread. XD Kidlet is usually really good about eating his home packed lunches. If he doesn't, he gets stuck with the nasty cafeteria mystery meat meals...
