Origin: Oblivia-Kurai no Ame

A gym class sketch that eventually turned into a full blown drawing. It depicts Aya with that mysterious thread again. I guess I'll take the time to explain the origin. The red thread comes from the Chinese legend The Red String of fate, also known as Akai Ito in Japan or the Red String of Marriage. In the lore a god is supposed to tie the string around a number of people that are destined to meet each other and help each other in a specific way. In Oblivia, this red string is actually a divine ailment known as "Bride's Thread." While it generally does not have limitations to marriage, the Goddess or as you know her; Nightmare, Pandora weaves the thread around herself, Ame, and Hanako. This is to ensure that each time Pandora (Aya) wishes to rewrite the past no matter what she, Hanako, and Ame will meet in the same exact way each time, so that the future will not become distorted. There are only a few that can physically see the thread. Those with a special God's Eye such as the one Ame has, and those that can use the Dyrnwyn; the third Nightmare's Scissor Blade. As a fail safe Pandora designed the Dyrnwyn to be the only thing that can cut the Bride's Thread, in case it led to worse results. But that weapon ended up in Noel's hands who is bent up on separating Hanako and Ame from Aya. (Explaining Noel's severe grudge on Hanako.) I think I'm getting too into it now lol I'll stop.

I have another more action-y picture in the works that I can't wait to finish so that'll be cool.

Now for the most important question: Do you think this dress is black, blue, and white or white, gold, and orange? =w=
