Description So this is what I alluded to in my 'The Hunt' drawing. My favorite line in Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show is when Edd says, "WELL, EXCUSE MY SINCERITY FOR BELIEVING I HAD LOST THE ONLY TWO PEOPLE I HAVE LEFT IN THIS WORLD!"

It's one of those lines where you KNOW he's saying it just within the context of the whole "running away" plot of the movie, but it also triggers this feeling that, subconciously, he's summing up how life's always been for him. The kids are flighty on whether they like him or not and his parents have little-to-no contact with him. The only people he can rely on are Ed and Eddy, and neither one of them has much of a "good friend" streak....

I dunno, it's just really cute. But then again, everything that happens in EEnE is cute to me. THE SERIES COMES TO A CLOSE THIS SUNDAY AT 7PM.

I think it was this moment that made me notice that a lot of the kids in the neighbourhood seem pretty neglected. I know it's just a cartoon but there's something weirdly tangible about this show when it comes to stuff like that. There are obviously adults in this universe. It's not like a world that's inhabited entirely by children. There are references that make it clear that that, yes, they do have parents. But then why does there seem to be so little parenting sometimes? Like there was one episode where Ed ate everyone's food and the kids were all starving and even as a little kid my initial thought process was "Why don't their parents just go to the store?" Why were the kids just able to go on a huge trip and not have their parents worry?....Why do the Eds not have an allowance? Are they like poverty stricken? Is that why Eddy's always trying to get money? Is that why Edds parents are never around? Like looking back on this as an adult, there just seems to be this kinda disturbing backdrop that we never see because we're meant to be looking at it through a child's eyes.

Well I would say in many areas Ed is a much better friend to Edd (ex Don't Rain On My Ed). Eddy kinda stirs the pot too much and Double D has no problem being sassy and insubordinate toward him.

When Double D said that he was going to return home after all of this, it wouldn't have surprised me if Double D had cut all ties with them after all he's been through

That was one of the best cartoon films and a perfect ending of the series EVER! Had a lot of wonderful themes of redemption and confession.

Yea I remember this, and it really does give me the feels. I like how this movie can relate to kids who have gone through excessive trauma and loss or abuse, because in all honesty kids who have gone through those things can't relate to much. This is amd was such a really good show, and I'm glad I watched it as a kid :3

This scene was my favorite, it was a great scene and shows the development of all three Eds. But, I really feel bad for Edd here, Ed and Eddy are really the two people he had left.

My favorite part of this scene really was Eddy's character development, afterall, for once in his life, he puts his ego and pride aside and calls himself a loser while taking the blame for everything that's happened. It shows that his friendship to Edd is stronger than Eddy's pride and the smudged influence of his older brother, whom he tries to constantly impress (my guess is because he wants to stop being the 'pipsqueak').

When I was younger, I just saw this show as a thing to laugh and pass time, but now I'm older and recently got back to it and I can't help, but look deeper into it as to why these three are so close friends, they even forgive such heavy mistakes like that. It's both sad and beautiful at the same time :3 I really miss the old Cartoon Network...

I know, it's a really gorgeous hard to explain thing, this show. You try to tell people about it but it's kinda impossible to convince someone to watch that. You just gotta get into it and fall in love with the Eds on your own. :3

So true~ I fell in love with Edd the moment I saw his cuteness showing, followed by Ed for being a big teddy bear and after certain eps and the movie, even Eddy gained a special place (I used to see him as a selfish little jerk who kept Ed and Edd of becoming friends with the other kids, but turned out there was more to it than that plus he's loyal to his friends... up to some point xD; ). One of my favorite episodes is A Fist Full of Ed. Simply gold

D'aww!!!! That's precious! I gotta agree that's how I always pictured it was like for poor Double D. I love Ed and Eddy's expressions here.

That whole second act had the most memorable scenes. Imagine admitting you were responsible for everything, and I MEAN EVERYTHING that took place in the show which set up conflict? I think that one took the cake, because you knew Eddy finally did what he'd never done before and confessed to the world he was responsible, he alone was the reason the Eds always suffered. To me, seeing the Eds walking into the sunset ("What would you do without me, Eddy?" "Don't milk it, sock head"), THAT would've been the perfect ending.

As nice as that would've looked as an ending, I would've been pissed off if they didn't finish the story. XD
