Good to see this finally finished! Astro's always been one of my favourite robots, regardless how childish some see him, he's still awesome. Was the only adult to go and see him at the theater though

Yu-yeah! Astro boy rocks. I'm liking the lighting. The colors of the galaxy swirls are nice too. How long did it take you to pick out colors?

Well, I'm going to be honest--I super-cheated on this. There's a little filter you can use in GIMP called Plasma, and it'll render nice little rainbow clouds for you. I did choose the colors for the planet, Astro, the background, etc., but I only slightly adjusted the plasma layer--did some mode shifts, tweaked the colors a bit, but essentially that's all the computer's "work" there.
