This surprising clade has began to outcompete their Stegotestid relatives, quickly dominating the seafloor and rivers. Eventually this clade took their first steps onto land, a hidden, rising power. Already many terrestrial Patellatestids are being outcompeted in mangroves and marshes. They have hardly changed from their fully aquatic ancestors, besides getting larger for the most part.
