No I haven't. I was mostly working from memory on the bone/muscle arrangement of a real arm, and then put some armor plates over some of the areas.

Apologies in advance for the short message, I'm not really in a critiquing mood right now. Point being, I really find this to be a great sketch and was wondering if you would mind me using it in my roleplaying. Either way you can be sure I will get around to leaving a better review. Catch ya later.

This drawing is a superb piece of work. Let me start of by complimenting your use of different shades which helps to bring out the use of the pistons in your drawing. The dark horizontal line on the hand does show one problem with the drawing however. The wrist is practically missing or is behind the armor plating of the arm. The mentioned lack of plating on the arms does give the audience a nice view which is a treat not always given. However through this view I have noticed all the pistons are packed quite closely together which makes the shading look a tad messy, must be hard, and design-wise is bound to leave quite a mess if damaged. The hands on this are clunky, making for good armor yet bad for most other uses that require precision. I myself enjoy the piston that extends to the end of your drawing at the upper right. Also enjoyable is the fact that the drawing is in 3-D, showing a few features that would otherwise have left the drawing lacking in completeness. On the should, it should be noticed that there is a second curve of armor plating that is hard to spot. This piece shows that the armor is layered and is quite a bonus. You might wish to try enhancing that type of layering and view so that more people might notice it. While this would take away from the number of hidden items to observe in the drawing, you may wish to include more of them to give it an air of complexity. Yes I said air as in aura, get over it. However, I would think that if you tried hard to make such visual cues in drawings that you may tire yourself out quickly and it may be extremely difficult, not to mention may take away from the drawing if too much attention is focused on it. All in all this is a good generic arm.

Actually, the fact that you commented at all is pretty bloody cool, going the step further and asking permission is even more awesome. If you want to drop a critique at some point, by all means do so.
Oh, and using the design/concept/image is just fine with me. Again, thanks for asking.
