Sorry for not being on in about nine years, again. But I'm stuck at Richie's house and I can't get home cause of the snow fucking up the trains so I can't get my laptop fixed or use my computer or anything. The only reason I've done this was because someone's laptop happened to be in Richie's room when he went to work this morning and I've taken full advantage of it ;D
I'VE BEEN UP SINCE 6AM!?!?
Anywho. I should be home tomorrow. Wish me luck with the trains.

Well, first of all you can tell the background was done quickly xD The lineart is a bit rough and things aren't detailed like they should (presents, tree etc) The tiles in front of the fireplace are very obvious.
Besides that, the only other major offender is the blanket - that is you've shadowed along the ink lines but you haven't really thought about how the shadows would cast in relation to the light source. Think 3d and don't be afraid to shadow heavily when you need to!
On the upside, the characters are all very cute and their expressions are very easy to read n_n The fact you actually did a background is always something to congratulate, and you did a good job - what I said before is just pushing you further 
But on the whole, I am very proud of you, Jess :3 And I'm sooo happy to see you using livelier skin tones!

I tried my best with the blanket but I seem to struggle with the light sources and stuffs so I'll try and work on that more.
Hur hur hurr. I'm glad to hear that. When I go to colour the skin something at the back of my head is shouting "YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG", so thank you for that. And thanks for telling me what's wrong, I'll try and work on it x'D

Yupp exactly-- Except the one I watched was named 'Rare Exports' and it just came to the cinema. It was a finnish-american movie based on some short movies that've been popular around the internet-- So I think what you saw might've been the short movie?
