Chapter Five

Months went by as Ambrose and Alexis waited for Altair to show himself again.  Alexis was now in her fourth month of pregnancy and it was starting to show.  She stood in her room as she pulled on one of the maternal dresses that Ambre gave her, "They belonged to mother while she pregnant with me and Ambrose." Ambre said smiling as she helped her pull the bottom over her swelling stomach and placed her hand on it.  She smiled as she felt the baby kick and then looked up at Alexis as she grunted, "Man, this baby will be quite a fighter." she said as she placed her hand on her stomach.  Ambre stood back up as she smiled, "Yeah.  It will be." she said as she looked her up and down, "You look beautiful in it.".  Then Ambre walked her down stairs to the dining hall and then turned to her as she reached the double doors, "May your day be joyous, Alexis." she said before she continued down the hall to the burial chamber.  Alexis smiled as she watched her walk off and then turned to the dining hall doors.  She opened them and walked inside, looking forward to eating something.  As she sat down at the table, a servant walked in with a plate full of food and set the plate in front of her as she smiled, "Here you go." she said.  Alexis looked up at her and smiled, "Thank you." she said before she turned back to the plate and began eating.  Then after she was finished, another servant walked in with a knife and approached her.  Alexis gasped as she watched her cut her hand and the cut began to bleed, "I'm sorry, but Lord Kemp insists that you drink some." she said as she reached her hand in front of her.  Alexis' eyes widened as she gazed at the bleeding hand and suddenly felt a deep urge inside her to suck on it.  "Go on.  It's alright if you do." the servant said.  Alexis gently took the servant's hand in hers and leaned towards the cut.  She heard the servant grunt as she started gently licking the blood that poured out of the cut and then pulled back as she felt the urge vanish.  The servant slowly took her hand back and wrapped it up in a clean cloth before walking back to the kitchen.  Alexis grunted as she felt the baby kick again and then stood up.

Alexis walked down to the training grounds with every intention to train hard.  As she approached the training grounds, she saw Baldric training with Hannah and smiled as she sat down next to a tree.  "You shouldn't be here." a voice said behind her.  She turned and saw Ambrose standing behind her, "Ambrose." she said as she struggled to stand up.  Ambrose gently took her hand and helped her stand up before he looked down at her stomach.  Alexis smiled as he rubbed his hand over her stomach, "How are you feeling, Alexis?" Ambrose asked as he looked back up at her.  Alexis smiled, "I feel fine." she said.  "Your not feeling weak or anything?" he asked her as he gazed at her intently.  Alexis shook her head, " No.  I'm fine, Ambrose." she said smiling.  He smiled at her, "Good." he said as he slid his arm around her shoulders, "Come on.  I'll escort you back inside.".  Alexis nodded as he guided her back to the castle.  He led her up to her bedroom and helped her get into bed before he covered her up, "You must rest for a while.  I do not want you to tire yourself out." he said as he gazed at her.  She gazed back at him, "Perhaps you are right, Ambrose." she said as she smiled at him.  He smiled back sweetly and then gently rubbed his hand over her swollen stomach before he slid his hand up.  Alexis gasped as his cold hand gently caressed her cheek, "Get some rest, Alexis." he said before he started walking to the door.  Alexis closed her eyes and fell asleep as she placed her hand on her stomach.

Then in the last month of her pregnancy, Alexis was walking down the path with Ambrose beside her and two guards behind them as the moon shone in the night sky.  Alexis watched Ambrose as he looked down at the ground sadly, "Ambrose, Are you alright?" she asked as she placed her hand on her stomach.  Ambrose looked over at her as he smiled, "Yes.  I'm fine." he said as he smiled sweetly at her.  Alexis looked down and she absorbed what he told her and then winced as sudden pain erupted in her stomach and fell to the ground.  Ambrose's eyes widened as he knelt down beside her, "Alexis, is it time?" he asked.  She looked up at him as tears formed in her eyes and nodded, "Ambrose.  Help me.  The pain is so intense." she begged as she gently held her stomach with her hands.  Ambrose looked back up at the two guards, "Go back to the castle!  Tell Ambre to come!" he demanded before he looked back at Alexis and gently started to lift her up in his arms.  "What about a midwife?" one of the guards asked.  "No!  Only Ambre!  I will not risk mine and Alexis' child being hunted down like an animal.  Now do as I say." he told them.  They both bowed before they ran back up to the castle.  Ambrose looked around and saw a cave behind some bushes as he stood up with Alexis in his arms.  She panted as another pain hit her, "Oh, Ambrose!  Please make the pain stop!" she begged as he carried her into the cave.  "Hold on, Alexis.  It will be over soon." he said as he gently set er down on the stone floor and took of his jacket.  Alexis panted as she started sweating profusely and placed her hand on her stomach.  Ambrose rolled up his sleeves as he watched her and then folded up his jacket before he placed it behind Alexis' head.  Alexis looked over at him, "Ambrose...." she said weakly as she gazed at him lovingly, "I-I'm so glad that I met you.  Please look after our child and do not forget me.".  His eyes widened and he quickly took her hand in his, "Don't talk like that, Alexis.  You'll survive this.  I promised that I would not let you die and I intend to keep that promise." he said as the moonlight shined in on them.

Then he looked over at the cave entrance as he heard running and saw Ambre run in with her arms full of blankets.  He gazed at her sadly as she gazed at them and she gasped at his sad expression.  Then she ran up to Alexis' legs and knelt down as she placed aside the blankets.  Then she took hold of the bottom of Alexis' dress ans tore it apart.  She gasped as she saw Alexis' blood soaked white petticoat underneath and look over at Ambrose sadly.  He gazed at her sadly before he looked back at Alexis as she started breathing slowly as her eyes closed.  His eyes widened and then he leaned over to her ear as he tilted her head to the side, "Alexis, I will not let you die." he said.  Then he looked down at her neck and opened his mouth as his fangs grew.  Alexis gasped as she felt his fangs pierce her flesh and opened her eyes as she placed her hand on the back of his head, "Ambrose..." she murmured weakly as Ambre tore open her petticoat, revealing her bleeding crotch.  Then Ambrose pulled back as he gasped as blood streamed out of the corner of his mouth.  Then he lifted up his wrist and slit it with his fingernail.  Alexis watched him as her eyes widened, "Ambrose." she said weakly as she saw blood drip out of his wrist.  He looked over at her, "Alexis Lennon, I give you life eternal.  To you I grant all my powers.  You will be able to walk out in the sunlight.  Drink and be with me forever." he said as he placed his wrist over her mouth and gently lifted her head up.  She gazed at his bleeding wrist and gently took hold of it in her hands.  Ambrose smiled as she pulled it to her mouth and started lapping up his blood as she pressed his wrist against her lips.  Then after he was sure she drank enough, he pulled his wrist away from her mouth, "That's enough, Alexis." he said as he gently placed her head back on his jacket.  She twitched as she felt pain erupt in her chest and placed her hand on her chest.  Ambrose gently took her hand in his, "Do not be afraid, Alexis.  It is only your body that is dying." he said as he gazed at her.  Alexis then relaxed as the pain vanished and she felt all her pain and weakness fade.  She looked over at him and smiled, "Ambrose." she said as she raised her hand up and gently caressed his cheek.  He smiled as he placed his hand on hers, "Alexis..." he said.  Then she looked down at her stomach as she felt the baby kick, "I better complete the process." she said as she sat up a little bit.  Ambre placed a blanket in front of her crotch and then looked up at her, "Now push." she said smiling.  Alexis beared down as she grunted and felt her muscles tighten above her swollen stomach.  Then she relaxed as she started to fall back.  Ambrose caught her in his arms and slid behind her as he held her, "Do not give up, Alexis.  Because I will never give up on you.  Bring our half blood child into this world." he said.  She smiled, "I intend to." she said as she beared down again.  Then after a while of bearing, Ambre looked up at her, "The head's almost out.  One more push." she said smiling as she gently took hold of the head.  Alexis beared down one more time and then relaxed as she felt Ambre pulling the baby the rest of the way out.  Then she rested against Ambrose's chest as she heard the baby start crying.  Ambrose smiled as he watched Ambre clean all the blood off of their baby, "What is it, Ambre?" he asked curiously as she bit the cord in half and then tied it.  Ambre looked up at him, "It's a boy." she said smiling as she wrapped their son up in a clean blanket.  Ambrose's eyes widened as he smiled and then looked down at their son as Ambre handed him to Alexis.  Alexis smiled as she took him in her arms and then looked up at Ambrose.  Ambrose smiled as he looked over at her and leaned down.  Alexis sighed as she felt his lips against her forehead and then looked over at Ambre as she covered her up in another clean blanket.  Then she looked back at Ambrose, "What will we name him, Ambrose, my love?" she asked.  Ambrose thought for a minute, "Amos." he said as he looked down at their son.  Alexis smiled as she looked down at their son too, "Very appropriate." she said as she gazed at Amos' fangs which protruded from his mouth.

Chapter Five

Months went by as Ambrose and Alexis waited for Altair to show himself again.  Alexis was now in her fourth month of pregnancy and it was starting to show. One more push." she said smiling as she gently took hold of the head.  Alexis beared down one more time and then relaxed as she felt Ambre pulling the baby the rest of the way out.  Then she rested against Ambrose's chest as she heard the baby start crying.  Ambrose smiled as he watched Ambre clean all the blood off of their baby, "What is it, Ambre?" he asked curiously as she bit the cord in half and then tied it.  Ambre looked up at him, "It's a boy." she said smiling as she wrapped their son up in a clean blanket.  Ambrose's eyes widened as he smiled and then looked down at their son as Ambre handed him to Alexis.  Alexis smiled as she took him in her arms and then looked up at Ambrose.  Ambrose smiled as he looked over at her and leaned down.  Alexis sighed as she felt his lips against her forehead and then looked over at Ambre as she covered her up in another clean blanket.  Then she looked back at Ambrose, "What will we name him, Ambrose, my love?" she asked.  Ambrose thought for a minute, "Amos." he said as he looked down at their son.  Alexis smiled as she looked down at their son too, "Very appropriate." she said as she gazed at Amos' fangs which protruded from his mouth.
