Chapter Seventeen

The next day, Hotori slowly opened his eyes and looked around to see Kumiko asleep against the wall. He smiled as he gazed at her and slowly reached over with his hand. Kumiko slowly opened her eyes as she felt his warm hand on hers and smiled as she gazed at him, "How are you feeling, Hotori?" she asked as she placed her other hand on his. He winced as his chest ached, "Still hurts a bit." he said. Kumiko pulled down the cover and examined his bruises and cuts and looked around to make sure Katsu was gone. He was. She leaned over and gently licked his cuts until they vanished and gently kissed over his bruises and licked them.

Hotori gazed at her as he started panting and gently placed his hand on her head, "Kumiko." he murmured. Kumiko looked up at him with a slight blush on her cheeks, "Hotori, don't ever leave my sight again!" she said as tears ran down. Hotori's eyes widened. "When I...when I saw you in that judgement room all beat up," she said on the verge of sobbing, "I was never so.....scared in my life. I thought I was going to lose you. If I had lost you, my life wouldn't of had any meaning to it." Hotori gazed at her sadly, "Kumiko..." he said. "We imprinted....remember? Which means that if one of us dies, the other will lose their will to live." she explained. Hotori gasped, "Kumiko..."he said as he gently caressed her cheek, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. Hotori smiled as he gazed at his new bride as he wiped his mouth on a wet cloth and gently dabbed the blood off Kumiko's shoulder and then bandaged it before he laid beside her and held her close as he pulled the futon cover over themselves and fell asleep himself.

The sun had set as Kagome awoke from her sleep and smiled as she saw Sesshomaru holding her close beside her in the bed as their naked bodies molded against each other and snuggled closer to him as she too wrapped her arms around him.
