I find this rather interesting. It's cute, but with the skeleton there, it gives the first impression of being grotesque. Nevertheless, the friendly background, vivid colors, and the overall atmosphere absolutely change that. This picture strongly reminds me of The Day of the Dead that Latin cultures celebrate.
Thoughts aside, I really like the abundance of bright clolors. I love what you did for the tree, and the young girl's hair is well-pleated. As for the skeleton himself, I love the outline and the detail you planned for him. Intricate, but gives a 2D feel at the same time.

thank you ming yi you alweays leave such thoughtful comments c: c:
hehe, the song I based it off is kind of like that... it's all cheery but also quite gothic at the same time. it's fun though because skeletons are usually illustrated in a really macbre way, so I gave him a cork hat (which you can't see too well because it's resized and detail gets lost) to show that he was from Down Under XD (with such small pointless puns do I amuse myself)

Oh I love it, and I love Rasputina.
That tree is just... aces, and I love the hairclip and her hair. In fact I just love the way you draw hair altogether.

thanks c: I love Rasputina's music and the surreal narratives in the lyrics, I'd love to do a storybook of all their songs : D

I meant to ask, because this reminded me of it... if you'd seen the 'creative cityscapes' computer arts tutorial. I randomly downloaded it the other day.
Yeah a storybook of their songs would be really cool, I want to do something similar with a singer I like (:

heh, that tree you did just really reminded me of it (:
The website's pretty good but I don't really use it, there are tutorials to download though and information, competitions and stuff... it's pretty useful.

A very funky interpretation, did you first draw it on paper or digital?
