Thank you! Someone who actually thinks an all girls youth group is cool. (I'm the aforementioned sister, btw). It's called Rainbow Girls and it's a group for girls 11-20. We do a bunch of community service, as well as hold fundraisers for a charity that is selected for the year. All of the assemblies in the state raise money for this one group, then we present them with a check at our convention. This year, our state charity (or service project) is the San Diego Adaptive Sports Foundation. It's a sports league specifically for wheelchair atheletes. *deep breath* ok, so that was the long-winded speech about my group. www.gorainbow.org

Hi there No, I'm not doing camp nanowrimo; I have no writing talent whatsoever, lol. Besides, I don't have enough time! ha ha
Ah Rainbow....it's a special name. Sometimes people take it as you did, "Hey! Rainbows are awesome! Double Rainbows are even better!!" Other times people give me a strange look and ask if it's a lesbian support group. *head desk* (For the record, it's not). But I love Rainbow, and if you're truly interested, you should check it out. If you're from California...our website is www.gocarainbow.org. And if you're interested, I can get you in contact with someone in your area. If you're from another place, erm...I have limited contacts, ha ha. But I do know someone in Alaska, Nevada, Washington, Idaho, New Jersey, New York, Arizona, and Australia! If you're not interested...I'll shut up now. kthanxbai

Talent? No. My dearest sister got everything talent-wise; writing, drawing, playing piano, cooking...etc. I got sewing and faking that I can play piano, lol.
Yep, it's a worldwide group. From Canada to Aruba to Brazil to the Phillipines, it's everywhere. Unfortunately though, we're small. The biggest jurisdiction is California, and we're only at about 800 members for the entire state; so that gives you an idea of how large it is in other areas.
I understand, College does put a damper on your social life, ha ha. But hey, you can always look me up if you find yourself in need of something to do, lol.

YOU PLAY PIANO?!? That's awesome. (Don't give up because you're teacher moved, keep with it, you'll be glad you did! Trust me!)
Ha ha, sewing is really my only thing...I guess public speaking; but that's not really talent so much as something I became good at because of Rainbow. (We do A LOT of speeches, lol)
Yeah, Rainbow's kinda small, but when you consider how many countries it's in, it's huge. It actually started in Oklahoma by a methodist minister. It's largest in California now, because we have the most fun!! Ha ha, that and we've got a huge population.

Good luck on your guitar!
That's great that you did drama! I really wish I had done it in college, but I didn't really want to pay for another class...
Yep, it started in Oklahoma back in 1922; almost 90 years ago! Since it was started in the 20's, back then women always wore dresses, so the dress code for meetings was long, formal dresses. After a while, dresses kinda went out of fashion, but we still wear them in Rainbow because it's tradition, and were essentially embracing our history. So the dresses thing is what sets us apart, and I love it.

Yeah, I just graduated from Cal State East Bay. Yay!! I was a weird homeschool freak, so I finished early, lol. What to expect kind of depends on your major. Basically though, expect long nights of essay writing, a lot of trips to the library for research, group projects (yuck), and expensive textbooks, lol.
Hahaha, I love it that you think long dresses are cool. Not many people do anymore, lol. The dresses are all different colors, just nothing really dark like black or brown. Because we wear dresses all the time, we also make a lot of fun dresses out of cotton print fabric. So I have one that's Disney/Pixar Cars, I have one with musical instruments all over it, I used to have one with crayons all over it...they're fun But anyhoo, Rainbow's the reason why I made that dress that's on my profile. A lot of the girls don't sew anymore, but I'm trying to encourage them all to start, ha ha. Once you can sew, the possibilities are endless!

Ha ha this is so much fun talking to you. You were homeschooled too? Small world, lol. Nah, I wasn't better at it, I just starting going to junior college in place of high school in tenth grade (because it counted for both high school and college credit) and five years later now I have my degree! I started early...I didn't skip ahead because of supernatural intelligence, ha ha. Yes, at least where I went, almost every class had a group project (you were assigned a group) and I swear, everytime I'm part of a group project, I end up doing all the work D:< ugh...but hopefully you'll have better luck. Textbooks are expensive, yes. Try buying online as much as possible if you want to save money. (But NEVER buy from eBay. People are lazy about shipping stuff to you. Buy from amazon or alibris.com)
Ha ha, I love long dresses too We don't all make our own dresses, some girls buy them as well, but making dresses is a lot cheaper than buying new ones. Most girls don't sew, so there are a lot of supportive adults who are always willing to help out. That's one of things I love about Rainbow. The adults are SOOOOO supportive. Anything you could ever need, they're there. Always willing to drive somewhere, sew a dress for you, help you plan an event, or let you stay the night at their house. I travel all over the state because of my office (I actually travel more than a lot of girls, haha) and I NEVER have to rent a hotel room. I can just call up someone in the area, and they'll open up their home. So that's why I carry thank you cards with me all the time, ha ha. But back to the dresses...I posted a few pictures of ones I made, I'll rummage around for pics of some others. Yes, I LOVE knowing how to sew now. I just leave my sewing machine set up now, ha ha. I remember one time, I needed a knee-length navy skirt and I couldn't find one anywhere (for less than $50) so I just went down to Ross, bought a navy dress for $10, cut the top and sewed over the edge on the top, and presto! Skirt for $10. I'm pretty frugal type person, lol. Ha ha, I wonder what Anna's comment thread looks like now that we've spammed it. I think we should find each other on facebook or something.

Yes, I was homeschooled, but only for a short while when I was younger. By first grade (more like the middle of first grade) I was enrolled in a private christian school (which sucked btw). But it's still pretty cool that you were able to get ahead! Is junior college the same as AP classes? And that is so amazingly cool that you have your degree? How old are you??? And yes you have supernatural intelligence!
I'm the same with you on group projects...I always get stuck doing all the work. And sometimes when I rely on other people to do some part they fail at it it sucks And yeah, I did actually buy some books from amazon and alibris. And half.com, which is an ebay company, but way more reliant
Wow, that is so cool how the parents are so supportive! I wish my mom were that way *sigh* it's so nice that you get to travel and stay with people, it's way cheaper and funner that way! Plus you get to meet new friends ^^ that's so nice for you to carry thank you cards around as well, some people don't do that kind of stuff and I don't like that
I saw the pictures you posted on here...you make REALLY cute dresses! And look uber pretty in them too!!!! You have real talent And that's so creative making that navy skirt like that; easy peesy, lemon squeesy haha you girl girl!
I bet her thread is super small, but who cares as long as I can see the comments in my inbox, it's all cool What your name (first & last), I'll add you on facebook Although, warning, I don't go on there too often (but I have a lot more than usual lately haha ^^)

Ah I see. No junior college isn't AP classes (I mean I suppose it sort of counts like AP) but junior college is just another name for two year community college.
Good job on the books I would stay away from half.com. I ordered books there once and they arrived six weeks after classes started =X
Yeah, the parents in Rainbow are the best! (Well, actually all the friends are the best, but parents are a close second) I love my whole Rainbow family
Thanks! Dresses are my thing I have a few more that I'm planning on making, but who knows if I'll have the time to make all of them. I'll probably start on one this weekend...maybe.
Ha ha, I don't go on Facebook and really use it that often either, but I check in on it about twice a day. (Weeks will pass before I update my status though, ha ha) I wish there was some sort of private message thing in deviantART, maybe there is and I haven't found it, ha ha. Well anyhow, my name is Sarah Morgan.

No problem! 4-H is a youth group that focuses on teaching kids various skills that they might want to learn for their adult lives. Pretty much how I heard it explained was that when it started, it was mostly parents taking turns teaching children different skills like sewing, cooking, carpentry, different types of animal care and what not. But as it got bigger, they started adding more recreational "projects" for the kids to be involved in. Like I started by doing projects for photography, dog obedience, and horse care. Plus you have community meeting once a month where all the kids get together and talk about different community service projects they're organizing to do as a a group and go over budget and such. It was actually pretty cool as a kid, though also just a little time consuming.

Really? They never did...that's strange haha I remember being a brownie as well...then I became a junior for a year before I quit haha
That is beyond cool that you do! If I ever move to your area and get a puppy, I'm sending them to you to train them haha XD That is so cool that you have your own horse! I'm beyond jealous...I've only ridden at summer camp hehe...but when I did then it was the whole week of horses, not just like a half an hour thing...my actually used to work with the horses at the summer camp haha
yayyyy!!! Thank you! I would greatly appreciate it...I'm having fun writing this scene ^^

Haha, I'm sure I would be able to assist with hypothetical dog needs. I love horse camps; my mom used to send me to one where we learned to jump and then helped build and paint new standards as well. It was so much fun, but you felt like your legs were going to fall off at the end of the day. XD
