H i s t o r y
When being a girl at age 13, Ume lived a few minutes outside of Ikebukuro, on the countryside with her family. She had her mother, father and also her two younger siblings, Yumi (6) and Ryouta (7). They were having a pretty peaceful and nice life with their nice neighbors. Umes mother work in the city of Ikebukuro while Ume, her father and her siblings were still at the countryside. The siblings were at some small school over there while Ume worked or helped her father at a convenience store over there. The parents tend to come home late in the evening so Ume had to pick up her siblings at school while father closed the store while going home & prepare the dinner and so on. Also, Ume sometimes went with her mother to the city and she was amazed since its a whole different environment.

The whole family one day decided to head in to town for a family day and so it happened. All the kids had big smiles on their faces and they had a good time, being at some park, cafe and just wandering around on the streets. As they were just strolling around they started to notice how people collapsed and cough, as if they were really sick, which just appeared out of no where. This made the whole family really nervous, espacily the kids. "Don't worry" the parents said as if it was nothing to worry about, even if they both had this nervous and scard look on their faces. All of a sudden the father collapsed and started coughing and so on. Everyone focused on him and were all scared. What was this? Umes mother tried to help him somehow, but that didn't work but after a few minutes the mother start coughing herself. Ume didn't know what was going on & her two siblings were clinging to their parents, crying. "Look for help!", the mother told Ume, but she refused and said she wanted to stay here. With a strict tone her mother told Ume to do it and bring her siblings with her. She looked at her mother as she had tears in her eyes, nodding and lifted one up as she held the others hand. They ran to an different direction to look for someone who could help. After looking and running for some moments they found no one. The two siblings started crying and repeatedly start crying that they wanted to go back to the parents, but Ume had no idea where they were. She didn't know the city, she didn't know which street her parents are or which way to go. This was something really irritating for Ume that she had no idea how to fix this but she just continued to walk around with her siblings around town until they saw other kids in different ages. She shined up a second and spoke to them if they know what could be wrong. But no one knew.

After a few days of sticking together with the other kids, some vampires arrived and took them with them and they said things would be alright. Ume didn't believe that, but she went with it. But as they were taken away some kids started to struggle and try to run away, the vampires tried to fetch them all since they were running different directions, including Umes siblings. she tried to call them to follow her as she ran to an alley, but they were just crying and screaming. As Ume was hiding in the alleyway behind some trash cans and paper boxes, she just sat there hidden. Unable to move or say anything. She just watched the vampires grab and take the others and even her siblings with them. Sitting there in silence as she watched them walk away, being unable to do anything, just sit there hiding while tears filling her eyes. She felt how her heart ached and how empty and how small she suddenly felt. But she knew that she had to stay focused and strong, that's what he mother told her in case anything bad would happen, don't let anything bring her down, no matter what. Staying in that alleyway was the only Ume did for a past few days before she heard other people around the streets. Vampires? She peaked out on the streets and saw some actual people who looked some sort of military. She wrinkled her eyebrows as she decided to show herself and just run towards them, letting out a soft "help" from her mouth while she started crying. That day they decided to take Ume with them and make her join the military.

When being there and getting to know everyone there, she felt safe once again, almost as if she was with her family again. Thinking back at parents and two siblings. She wondered if they are still alive, no one knew. So she decided to join the military to start a new life and in her mind, she thought that, maybe, maybe she'll be able to find her siblings that she lost that day.
