The story behind this drawing involved a song performed by Miku
Hatsune - 'Alice' and one of my kinder-garden memories that I wanted to share because it rather matched the lyrics.

When I was 5, our teachers in kinder-garden took us to the nearby forest for a small trip. I decided to pair up with one of the girls in my group, called Alexandra that I had a crush on. (The two of us hung out a lot in kinder-garden and always pretended to be married ). When when we reached the forest I told her we should go ahead because I knew a place where the real adventure started since I used to visit that forest a lot with my father and younger sister.

She agreed and we took a few steps in the forest while the teachers weren't looking. We then reached that place in the forest that I felt unsure about. It was an open space but right ahead the trees formed a sort of archway that made that little rarely used path rather dark.

But I knew that with Alexandra I had the courage to cross it,face it, but she said she wouldn't want to do it anymore and ran back to the teachers, as I was left alone facing that 'Entry to a dark world' as I saw it as a kid.
That's when I became aware that I was alone , nobody there to help me through that forest, and thus when my fear of darkness was born.

Now I can't help but wonder, if I would have been there , at my age now, holding my own little hand, smiling to reassure myself that there's nothing scary out there, would I have been able to cross that path?

P.S: I actually used to look that boy-ish as a kid, I had really bushy eyebrows and really big ears , so kids always picked on me for that but mothers for some reason found that adorable.
