Description I wanted to do the character only but he sort of required a background so I made this lame 'running on grass and blue sky' type of background. The black border wasn't planned but I wanted something that would give more action to the picture... Messed it up a bit and I probably could have made it better if I had planned more carefully. Oh, well...hehe

Wow, that's cool. I like your cheetah-guy here. Yeah, cheetah's definetaly are speedsters. I like how the background makes it look like he's rushing through the grasslands, but his pose makes him seem like running fast is no big deal to him, that's it's easy. (Kind of like he's caught in slow motion or something.) Anyway, I really love the colouring on this & the detail (especially the spots) is wonderful.

I think that he's a beautiful character. You have a great style for furries. He doesn't really appear to be running so much, though. Perhaps one of his arms should be more forward or backward?

Thank you. I didn't want him to look as he where going full speed, so that's why I placed his arms the way I did. He's taking it easy

Oh, this is lovely! The Prince of Speed indeed! He looks a tad bishie, but that's natural -- he's a feline afterall!

No problem. I'll remove it once I can. It seems they removed the feature for the time being.
And yes! I love most kind of animals (exceptions are spiders and sharks, haha)
Thank you!

You ever watch nature documentaries? If you do, and you watch a cheetah or other fast serengetti (sp?) animals in action, you tend to notice that the grass and sky is kinda a blurr in the background... And maybe it was a stylistic choice, but the plains of Africa tend to be really flat. Oh, and there's hardly any clouds. Lastly, horitzontal lines would give a better impression of speed than your diagonal slashes. Just some insight in case you were ever interested in doing this character again, because he is awesome! Cheetahs are some of my favorite African animals, second to the Red Wolves of Ethiopia.

Oh, by the way, this is watercolors, right? Beautiful technique! Your attention to detail is also very nice. I don't usually like anthros (mostly because they aren't convincing), but the Prince looks so natural! What did you use for the white highlights all over the image?

Thank you for the feedback I admitt I didn't search any reference for the background. It's my first time trying to draw something that looks like a savanna, heh. I was thinking of doing the lines horizontal but I figured that it would disturb the the sky and the grass since they are kind of warped themselfes. I don't normally draw anthros either. I think this is my second try in doing so.
And, yes, it's watercolos and I used a bit of aqrylic for the white highlights
