Umbrella

Sheltered from the rain
Allowing one to remain dry
Shielded from the sun
Giving one the protection
it needs to survive the heat
To cool down under shade, A safeguard against exposure
What may be the only defense towards danger
But this what one calls an umbrella
Which purpose is to protect
one from the pitfalls of nature
Particularly that of rain or sun
Let my love embrace you gracefully
Giving you the assurance that you to will be guarded
Against that, that intends to harm your existence
Particularly that of hate
But with profound tender and passionate affection
One will be enveloped in the warmth of love
And you may develop a sense as if I were that device
Whenever you feel you need protection
Hold onto me I'll be you umbrella
