Description For those who don’t know, Bling! is the lesbian, mutant, junior X-Man daughter of famous fictional Hip-Hop stars in the Marvel U. If a character like Bling! can exist and not be considered a joke, then PHAT deserves a lot more respect.

Okay, had to Comicvine her to remember where I'd read her (in X-Men Legacy where Rogue goes to save her) and she was pretty cool. Unoriginal powers. But cool.

But I do have a bone to pick with Marvel -- why are a good portion of their gay/lesbian characters "freak"-types? Like look at Anole and Bling. *sigh* I know they have Karma and Northstar working the "attractive" angles but still. It would be nice to have a more well-rounded projection of sexualities and races. It could be worse though, there could be droves of Batwoman lipstick lesbians running amuck.

BTW, I'm loving this look. I really like pink and brown together -- it's feminine but still kind of tough which is how she seems to be characterized. And the Rogue-esque jacket makes me smile. And you can take this as a compliment (or maybe not depending on your thoughts on her) but she kind of looks like Tori Spelling. Lol.

yea. Well not only is Bling! gay, but she's also obviously black. That's my pet peeve- putting a slew of minority characteristics into one character. They're even trying to make her fat now.

LOL- OH NO about Tori! Now that's all I'm gonna see! *shakes fist

It doesn't bug me when they do the double "minority" thing (i.e. gay and black) because those are often portrayals which are put together. Usually we see twinky white boys or butchy white ladies or fem white ladies. But because she's just a giant freakin' jewel it's hard to think of her as a race specifically because her skin colour isn't really there. Which obviously opens up a whole bunch of other questions about race X-Men have been dealing with for a long time. After all, the X-Men were never really about the labels of race as they generally clumped themselves all together as one race.

There was a marathon of Tori Spelling movies today on the W Network (it's like the chick network in Canada).

I am so all about "Mother May I Sleep With Danger"

I taped it of TVwhen I was like 15 and fantasized about her crazy boyfriend. Remember the scene where he nearly kills 3 guys in a restroom!?

I've never seen that movie so I had to imdb it. That was during the 90210 days though -- of course that was post-Brenda though. It vaguely sounds like the Reese Witherspoon movie "Fear" with Mark Walhberg where he fingers her on a roller coaster ride O.o It was also during the "Alyssa Milano shows off her breasts in every movie" time period.

LOL. Fear was lame. Marky Mark was so not-believable as a an abuser.

In my teen years, I used to play-cast X-Men and Alyssa Milano was my Rogue.

I know it was and that's part of the camp appeal. Me and my cousin have made "Nicole 4 EVA" one of our many jokes. It's just too hilarious!

Hm.... interesting... I think Alyssa is a little more Kitty Pryde-esque though, don't you think? But this is someone who mostly knows her from the 8 years of Charmed, a movie where she's a mobster lady and "Fear".

Well I also toyed with Ashley Judd as Rogue, but she soon got too old to keep her spot. This was back when they announced Angela Bassett accepted the role of Storm. (LOL- I put Lawrence Fishburne as Bishop-- haha.) LOL @ my elderly cast.

Hey, Angela Bassett is a freakin' fox! I *loved* her in "Waiting to Exhale" and "What's Love Got To Do With It". When she sets that car on fire in WTE, I was like "YUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! YOU GO ANGELA BASSETT!!!" She would have been an amazing Storm. Halle Berry was a bit of a mismatch as I feel they should have gone with an actual African. But whatever. At least we got James Marsden (OMG YUM-O!!) but it's too bad they did NOTHING with the gorgeous piece of meat that is James Marsden.

Did you see him in the 24th Day? He plays gay. Really powerful film.

Well, he is. He's so attractive I think and is always underused. Like in Enchanted. Glad he at least got Idina Menzel(who we all know is thousands of times more talented and hilarious than Amy Adams could ever be).

I've never heard of that movie though... I will have to check it out.

yea its cool. And unlike Enchanted, has no fat black women to make fun of.

walked outta that one.

Oh also, (u prolly know this) but we see a lot of his ass and maybe some ball in the Dearth at a Funeral remake. He's naked for most of it!

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Lol. That totally took me a full 30 seconds to remember. Well I loved the movie. The Disney freak in me had many a fangasm throughout. Plus Idina Menzel was in it. So anything with her (no matter how small) is always worth a watch for me.
