Description What do a scientist, a dance teacher, a spy and a government bureaucrat all have in common? Well, in the world of classic X-Men, they’re each powerful women with extremely close ties to the X-Men, despite possessing
no super powers whatsoever!

Each of these gals had almost invaluable roles and each was created and written with Claremont’s trademark carefulness and specificity.

The idea that there are these highly-skilled non-mutant people scattered throughout the globe who secretly take on the burden of the X-Men’s mission in one way or another is intriguing.

I've been reading alot of the classic New Mutants lately, and I have gotta say, I miss Stevie Hunter. Her and Val Cooper, but at least Peter David still likes to write Val from time to time.

Does Val appear in the new X-Factor? I wouldn't know- I only pick it up here and there. Did her write her as a traitor at some point- or was that under someone else's pen?

Yea, Stevie is so awesome. I mean, granted, she was little more than a glorified babysitter, still it made sense that she was around, considering they WERE all kids. Problem is- I think the urge to write kids older-acting than they are is there, so rarely do writers think of the need for a chaperone.

She appeared within the first two years of the new book, but that was about all. She still got more page time than Havok and Polaris, though. If only he'd write the characters I hate out of that book and bring Alex and Lorna back....

Would Alex and Lorna work with the current format though? I don't see Alex taking orders from Jamie for a second.

... although that might make for an interesting plot point... the shift in power dynamic between Alex and Jamie...

Cool. Always nice to see the supporting characters get some love. I've always personally loved Moira. She was always written so well and I always felt her intelligence was unmatched by even Hank McCoy. Of course, she also bagged that hottie Sean Cassidy. Although, when they dated he wasn't a hottie... I wonder if being around Emma in her stripper gear made him strip his dated 'do and bulk up a bit. Then there's Stevie. OMG. Love Stevie. I mean, it's fantastic when black characters make it into a series in a supporting capacity and aren't hookers, thugs, junkies or pimps, isn't it? Plus, she was always the one calling out Kitty whenever she acted like a twat (which was often). The third I'm assuming is Yukio, no? Storm's pseudo-lesbian friend? They totally had a fling, right? I mean, I'm convinced it was. And Val. Oh Val. It was always hard to figure out whose side she was on...

Hehe, I prefer to believe that Val is pro-mutant rights and was always looking out for the gang. Not a fan of making her a traitor at all.

What Yukio and Storm have is very read between the lines, but I'm surprised that back then they flat out admitted that Yukio and Wolvie had a thing. I love that-- outward, non-hidden, purposeful sexual tension! LOL. She is the perfect Wolvie ex too.

Who HASN'T Wolverine had sex with? If he didn't have a healing factor he'd be crawling with God knows what. But I suppose a lot of comic fans live vicariously through him so many require that he sleeps with lots of women who they know they'd never get with. Mind you, I wouldn't go near any of the girls he's done. I mean, Viper? She'd pull a freakin' Lorena Bobbitt if you looked at her the wrong way.

LOL-- I think he likes to live dangerously!

I love that Wolverine has (well had) a sex life. He's damn near 100 years old, he frikkin SHOULD have a lotta notches in his headboard.

The funny thing is that a lot of them were actually monogamous relationships. I mean, he's supposed to be the bad boy but so many of the women he's been with were long-time girlfriends or wives. Hell, the animated series didn't help his case when it came to Jean either. How many times did he bitch, moan and cry over Jean being with Scott?
