ClaytonSnow [2012-10-03 00:55:56 +0000 UTC]

Great trips, however when i use my dodge took, it makes little circles that expose on top of each other, and not a smooth shape that is all one color like yours did above, i have no clue how to fix it, and also whenever i go over a area where i have dodged, it doubles the exposure, so i cannot get the effect i want, and there seems to be no obvious way to fix this.

antichange In reply to ClaytonSnow [2012-10-03 21:59:49 +0000 UTC]

Go to the brush tab and increase the "spacing"/rate option (at the bottom of the panel if you're using GIMP); your brush size is probably fairly gigantic if you're seeing the unsmooth effect xP Otherwise, that's what smudging is for \o/

Gerralore [2012-09-09 21:32:15 +0000 UTC]

Extremely useful! I usually did my shading by modelling a single blob of white and playing with it with Smudge. Ends up looking pretty smoky, so this might be what I'm looking for

Yuulyn In reply to antichange [2012-07-28 03:42:59 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. One more question, are the colors on the same layer or different layers?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

antichange In reply to Yuulyn [2012-07-28 15:56:32 +0000 UTC]

I did this all on one layer, but it's possible to do it on separate layers too. Start with the blue as before, but in a cloud shape instead \o/

Tried this with my background for Howrse. Just a tip, this tuto doesn't really work with really light backgrounds

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

antichange In reply to PixelOnHowrse [2012-04-08 18:02:29 +0000 UTC]

In that case, you pick colours for the clouds that are darker than the background (x
