Now I haven't done crewel work before, I prefer Hardanger or just plain free hand. How do you find it in relative terms of ease?

Oh, WONDERFUL!

And such a delicate and traditional embroidery in lovely, muted period colors, too. A beautiful piece in its own right, and a great relief from all the glossy modern corsets competing to be more garishly pornographic than each other.
