if all abandoned cars looked like that it would exsplain why so many people in Alabama have several of them sitting in their front yard lol

really cool treasure to find. over here, in my part of the states, that would just be a few pieces of chassis left, with the environment here

Well there wasn't too much of it left here. It covered an old mine site to stop people falling in.

Many thanks for posting, just been reading up on that area, must get that direction sometime.

I've always searched out abandoned mining towns in the US, an interesting insight to the past. Last year in Death Valley, California, I found a hand hewn mine which was the work of one guy for forty years. Quite extraordinary to think of trekking across such hostile ground in those days for the right place to mine. Haven't got my pictures online yet but this is the area [link] and if this links works here's a picture I took of Bink in that mine [link]

An area to check out is around the town of Cue, Mount Magnet and Meekatharra. Austin, the town site, is in this area. Unfortunately many of the places are cleared of the buildings. There are a few other spots such as Big Bell, Lennonville, Paynesville etc that have little things such as graves still around but many are very dissapointing. If you are looking for a good abandoned town in W.A try Gwalia near Leonora. That would be the best.

Can see I need two months not two days around Perth ! Gwalia in particular looks interesting, good to see the community are preserving the area too. I'm keeping it all on file for reference, many thanks for so much useful information. ... Alex
