Description
Based on the story Background Pony by Shortskirtsandexplosions (link ), chapter 1
(I've read only first two. Still, had this picture in mind for a loooong time (about a year) and started this about five months ago.)

Spent a lot of time on this one. Tried to make it perfect, but I guess this is the best I can get from my current skills and also the program Paint tool SAI.

Wow, this is extremely powerful. I just started BgP last night and I POWERED through it. I'm currently about halfway through chapter ten and I needed a breather from the crushing sadness. This picture...well, I know how I'm going to be visualizing what Lyra goes through now. Thank you, this is amazing.

Yet I'm still sad that I can't be good enough. That I can't do better. That there are always people who are so good at drawing I can't even understand how could I learn that.
Also the fact that I think I came to a point at which I'm stucked - it's the best I cand yo, I have no idea how to enhance it to be better yet it doesn't look perfect to me, for some reason.

Just keep doing exactly what you're doing. You're better than you give yourself credit. I mean, just look at me! I'm a completely self-taught artist and simply because I've drawn almost every day, I've gotten good at it! You just need to be patient to achieve your goals, and never lose your concentration toward them.
(At least you can color. I REALLY can't do that!)

Well, I'm drawing for 1,75 years now. I practice very often (almost daily too), but I'm too self taught. And I feel bad about it, especially when I know it ain't perfect but I don't know how to learn it. Or, even don't want to learn it, maybe?

Being self taught is awesome. However, it is easy to learn as well. I'm trying to get classes now. I suggest you look into it.

No chance for that. I don't know about your conditions, but I'm currently studying at an university in a completely different field, so getting classes would cost me quite much, so I declined it. (Hoping to learn by myself with the help of online classes, tips from friends and maybe some books later on)

oh okay sorry XD I think this piece is awesome. You could easily work for a live action movie company. That's probably going to be the next step for MLP FIM. I think it would be hilarious if they went to Paris or even Tokyo.

Sadly, no. This picture alone took too many hours. Professional designers know how to be fast, and I suck at that (I have bad basics).
Also yes, would love to have more opportunities in my country too
