SIGH it's been a while since i put effort in something!
These days i've been really busy with school, the quantity of projects and things i have to do for the next day have increased to the point of getting ridiculous! don't expect anything serious from me for a while if it is not homework related u
Well, maybe some of you knew ( thanks to my overload of mexican related stuff in my tumblog) that on thursday/friday was the 201th anniversary of the independence of mexico and also the first year since i created my batch of Weapunks.

There's a funny story about how they were created, in fact i was really drunk celebrating with my cousins and one of them said " what if -theworldwasmadeofglazeddonuts- there were humans that had weapons inside, it would be useful for war or in case the world ended" AND I SAID FUCK THIS SHIT i dropped my bacardi añejo bottle and i started doodling. Of course the next day i was like "what the fuck is this shit" but i developed the characters more and more and then these babies were born.
There was a whole process when creating these characters, first of all i wanted to reflect how my country is seen by other people's eyes stereotypes, corruption, weapons, passionate love and hate, culture and of course a lot of patriotic pride.
I wanted to use a style that reflected the art of my country from all sides, so Mexican muralism [link] inspired me to draw this piece.
Mexican muralism was created after the revolution and there are so many artists that i admire and i respect that i could not resist at all, Muralism was created to portrait the scenes of war from the past and how mexicans struggled against monarchy, injustice and the unfair government of that time. So i guess it is an adequate style to portrait how the Weapunks interact even if their universe is not related with ours.

This is a scene of their story right after they arrived to the new continent from theirs, El Diablo escaped from the crate where they were packed in and promised them to kill them all even if he had to die to complete the task. The siblings promised themselves to stay together and survive in name of their creator, although of course several years later the pact is broken and they drift apart leaving behind the values and lessons their creator taught them.

Also! thank you so much to the ones that kept me company in the livestream of this! in the end my internet connection died but it was nice while it lasted!

Faq - Yes there are weaponsmith stitchpunks and gun powder weapons in our AU! so don't even start bitching bros. It was obvious stitchpunks will evolve somehow and develop new machines and weapons with the time.
