Description Since I get a lot of questions regarding some of the non-sewn parts of my cosplays, I thought I'd get into the habit of photographing each stage of my props' construction so that I can offer visuals in future instead of awkwardly trying to describe the processes. My first project doing this with was the Fionna Crystal/Ruby sword that I stayed up working on into the late hours of the night when I should have been sleeping hurr hurr hurr.

No one's asked me about my Fionna sword as of yet, but even so, I thought it might be helpful to post this. It's not quite formal enough to be called a tutorial since I'm not going through the process of naming all my materials, explaining each step, etc., but the images are pretty self-explanatory. Now, my method of building this may seem shoddy. However, I stand by my use of cardboard seeing as how I don't have the access to the tools required to use heavier materials. And although it may not seem like it, cardboard, when used right, holds up really well (this sword was very hardy as it played its role throughout the day) and it looks perfectly fine in photos (my rule of thumb: if the product looks like cardboard, then you're simply not using it correctly). Plus this is a cheap and easy way to get the prop together. There are parts of this sword that I would liked to have done a little cleaner if I had the time, but the sword was kind of a spur of the moment thing that I decided to put together the night before I needed it. Even so, I'm very proud of how it came out.

Now for my usual tutorial spiel:

Guidelines for using my tutorials:

Kindly give credit where it is due; if you use this tutorial for your own projects, please credit me by either linking back to this deviation page, to my website or to my dA account.
Favourites are always appreciated; if you use this, I do appreciate support!
Feedback is always helpful; I haven't been making tutorials for very long, so if there's anything here that you liked, or any instructions that could have been clearer, please do let me know so that I can continue to improve and help my fellow cosplayers!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

And I do take tutorial requests! If there's anything you've seen me make that you would like me to make a tutorial for, please do drop me a comment! I can't guarantee that I'll get to everyone's requests, but I will certainly make tutorials on whatever I can in order to help however I can! Thank you!
