The only thing I never got about that fic was some of the timeline references. Like...Gary beat Ash in the Indigo League, but barely a year later and Ash thinks Gary's married? Geez, how early do they get married there? And if he got beaten later in life, why didn't the fic say so? This sort of maturity at age eleven is a bit much. So, yeah. Timeline wise, it bothered me a lot. But the writing was good and the pairing was handled well, and your artwork certainly makes me want to read it again ^^
