Description Hey there, working with V3 and M3, not so easy as Genesis.
This is a scene that is likely to feature in the Robot City story.
These are Mercs, hired to ensure that the an unknown commodity finds its way to their Employer.
But like so many plans... it does not go as planned.

Daz Studio 4.8 and rendered in Iray
Postwork - Photoshop

I have never, and i mean never been able to make this damned armor work correctly! This looks sooo good! What did you do??!!?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AOGRAI In reply to CrwnPrince [2015-07-12 05:41:28 +0000 UTC]

Well I used the original figures it was meant for, and used the basic textures it came with. v3 figure I used V4 to V3 fig so I could use V4 texture and morph for the face. Poses were modified piece by piece by myself and a bit of clever angles to hide flaws.

CrwnPrince In reply to AOGRAI [2015-07-12 18:36:55 +0000 UTC]

I was speaking of the textures and how you make this image POP!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AOGRAI In reply to CrwnPrince [2015-07-13 00:52:47 +0000 UTC]

Ahh well, I did not want the background to overwhelm the figures so I did a bit of post work blur effect to the background but not too over the top. Β Next I also blurred ever so slightly the foreground and kept the focus on the centre where the figures are. Β I did use a slight contrast to bring out the figures more.

CrwnPrince In reply to AOGRAI [2015-07-15 01:27:05 +0000 UTC]

What did you use for the smoke effect? Rons smoke? I can never get his stuff to work right.....

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AOGRAI In reply to CrwnPrince [2015-07-15 18:00:00 +0000 UTC]

Yes Ron's smoke. Β Use dark colour palette for the brush. Just play with them on a white blank and make sure it is on a diff layer.

LOLOLOL!! There is a trick to everything huh? And here i thought I was doing something wrong. Now I know....

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AOGRAI In reply to CrwnPrince [2015-07-14 11:55:17 +0000 UTC]

Well of coz we all need to play around a bit to get the best out of our figures!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CrwnPrince In reply to AOGRAI [2015-07-14 23:42:00 +0000 UTC]

But i always seem to forget that.. As long as i have been creating art and drawing... I think i kind of expect 3d to be like drawing.. when i finish I figure its done.
But I also have to remember that i was always never satisfied and fixing this or working on that. LOL! Ah well.. The creative process...
I must really thank you for that bluring bit with the background image., I have wanted to know how to do that for THE longest time.. And figuring out depth of feild was not working.. LOLOL!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AOGRAI In reply to CrwnPrince [2015-07-15 18:01:22 +0000 UTC]

Sometimes I do use depth of field. But at other times I have also rendered the figure and background separately too.

Hm, I remember that I fitted this set on 4 Genesi. It's not that hard. Most of the armor parts are props which don't conform anyway. They are just parented to the bones.
