Description Look! I can still draw in manga style! Well, sorta >.> My usual weirdness when it comes to manga style. I actually started this last semester not to long after I started a drawing in class that used the repetition of lines to make a design. That one is the flower garden-looking one that's in my gallery. This was my take on that technique in manga style. I've done stuff like this before, but I tried to play with it more this time

If you're wondering, this is my character Joey from ESC in the drawing (as per usual seems like O.O ). The images in the drawing are based on later events in my series (some of them MUCH later) so this should confuse the crap out of all but like one or two of you lol. Sorry, but I was listening to a song that put me in the mood to go "Depress-mode". It was when I first discovered the song "Down and Out" by Kid Cudi. And also, Joey's wearing a leather jacket and beanie for anyone curious. He's also rocking a rosary because it was still in style to wear rosaries around here then. It's gone out now, but whatever XD

I want to do a color version of this later, and I'll neaten up the line art then also, but I'm too lazy right now. Until then, thanks for viewing!

The title to this picture is perfect for it!
I really like how you kind of meshed together the background images, emphasizing the title even more. I'm guessing it's an explanation to this characters past, the images in the background. It sort of keeps you guessing as to what happened to the guy.
The figures are very well drawn. I also like the different slants of cross hatching, as it adds lots of texture to the fore image.
I can't really think of anything that I would change, but i think it would look good in color. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/> just my opinion though
Overall, I give you a 9 out of 10 on the Kris scale for originality and the emotion of the image.
I really enjoyed it!

First of all, thank you so much for writing this critique! I thought my page was completely dead, because I haven't been getting many comments lately XD it's awesome to know that someone's still looking. Secondly, thank you for writing such a complimentary critique I'm shocked you thought it was that good! It is a glimpse into the character's background, not for any real purpose in the comic story presently though. I just felt like drawing it. And no worries, I've already started coloring it on my iPad long ago I didn't work much on it for a while because of my impending AP art exam, but your critique had me so inspired I was working on it again today, finally. Thank you again!

Thank you again XD And ESC has actually had a serious storyline for a long time now, but most of the serious stuff happens later on. There are a few serious parts at the beginning, though (one of the characters even contemplates suicide, but it's an un-introduced character right now). And I would never hit you! I love my buddy from Norway! And lol, Joey thanks you. I liked the way he looked in this picture more, too. I'm getting tired of always drawing his goofy side. I'm glad you like the way my style is changing. I was getting nervous because I'm moving more away from traditional manga style, so it's cool to have your support

Its the same with me I find, Im moving away from manga as well^^ But honestly, I think its a good thing, because our styles are developing to be more complicated and anatomically correct this way! AND more mature, its a positive thing, right?XD

Oops, I couldn't remember exactly when it started -__- I wish you very good luck then! And I'm alright Working to try to finish an oil painting that I'm very tired of working on. I have a quiz on the parts of the skull tomorrow in anatomy. Same old, same old. I did find a date to prom this year He's a guy I've been friends with for a while now that I've always really liked. We aren't extremely serious or anything yet, but I love being around him. He doesn't make me feel awkward like a lot of the other guys that have been into me, either. So, that's been pretty cool Other than that, things have been nuts lately. I think my anatomy teacher resents my class secretly because he thought we were all going to be future doctors and nurses, but instead he got the league of idiots. That class is EVIIIIL. I have a C in there, an 84, while I have two 99s, a 98, and a 92 for my other classes. Oh, and I think I found my room mate for college What you been up to?

oh i have been busy with robotics, i have put in over 100 hours in the last 6 weeks and continue to put time in. i am the leader this year so thats what i get. i dropped math analysis to free up my time. i am leatherworking and woodworking more and more often now and it is awesome i have some of that stuff to put up here soon. not much drawing actually. FORSAKEN needs work, and i need to detach myself from it a bit. school is slow and i unfortunately sleep through spanish and physics most of the days. my senior-ness is getting to me.

Thank you dude Lol I have several friends who would go apeshit on you for that one XD But I don't really care either way. I like some manga, and detest others. It's something I'll admit has had an influence on my style, but no more so than the things I learn from art class or the music I listen to. I try to stay away from copying any particular style exactly.
