Economy and focus are definitely obvious in this picture. The book (of life, I assume) has so much character with its weathered cover and marked pages.
I like the simplicity.

Mmh nicely done, i like old books; the simplicity of it is definitely eyecatching.
If i get you right here then the book stands symbolic for "one life". It's a nice idea but i don't think that this analogy works, if you really think about it; nonetheless i like the idea.
