Death Perception was first introduced in Black Ops 4's Voyage of Dispair map, and is also first featured in Die Maschine, Black Ops Cold War's first zombies map, and the first map in the Dark Aether Saga. When purchased, it provides the survivor with enhanced awareness benefits to locate nearby enemies easier by giving the survivor an orange outline of nearby enemies through walls, similar to a thermal optic. Any nearby enemies off screen will be highlighted by small white arrows on the HUD denoting their location relative to the survivor, along with allowing survivors to increase survivability, awareness, armor penetration, and Salvage drop rates. Its effects can be upgraded in the form of tiers. At Tier 1, the minimap's update rate is increased. At Tier 2, enemies give danger indicators when behind the survivor. At Tier 3, the survivor gains 20% more looted Salvage and High-Grade Salvage. At Tier 4, the perk increases armor penetration damage by 25%. At Tier 5, any nearby chests, resources, and item drops are keylined through walls. It costs around 2500 points to purchase, but can cost up to 7000 points if upgraded.
