Description
Every puzzle has a solution. If I've learned anything from the many Professor Layton games is that no matter how magical the mystery seems, there is always a logical answer. Not that the logical answers always make sense, but that is beside the point.
This one is long overdue. I have been wanting to make a sprite based on Professor Layton ever since I first played the first game in the chronology, Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call (PAL title). Since then I've traveled the world with him (literally too!), solved countless mysteries and even traveled through time. Three times!
As always with the things I love, I can never really stick to just one character. Sure, the games bear Layton's name, but the supporting cast is just as important and iconic. That's why I went with the three most important characters in the prequel trilogy and the ones from the original trilogy. Basically that's Professor Hershel Layton and Luke Triton in each, with one supporting female that always seems to tag along: Emmy Altava (in the yellow coat) and Flora Reinhold (in the pink dress) respectively. I tried to put everyone in their most default of poses, with a few extra details here and there.
And I know, there are so many more iconic characters from the game series I could make, but there would be no end to it all. Sorry to all those Don Paolo enthusiasts out there (though I think Descole was a more interesting villain).
Now for fun, if anyone's interested, the chronological adventures of Professor Layton, ignoring any mobile games:
-Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call / Last Specter (DS)
-Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva (animated movie)
-Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask (3DS)
-Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy (3DS)
-Professor Layton and the Curious Village (DS)
-Professor Layton and Pandora's Box / the Diabolical Box (DS)
-Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (3DS)
-Professor Layton and the Lost Future / Unwound Future (DS)
(-Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy (3DS/Switch))
PS. If you ever want to play a game you think is like Professor Layton, I highly recommend you don't go anywhere near Konami's answer to this franchise: Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights (3DS). You'll be tearing your hair out if you don't heed my advice..
