• "Flame" — Beneath Kirin's horn is a bright, golden marking that resembles a growing flame. He considers it a mark of good omen, lucky even, especially as there are no other real issues he suffers from, unlike some piebald members. It is often obscured by his horn, and only comes into full view during spring when his antler has shed.
• Height — Being a full hand taller than the rest of most herd members has both its boons and drawbacks. Kirin's size aids him in overpowering predators or simply intimidating them. However, some whisper that he clearly had blackblood in his veins, though a number of attempts to burn him later, and that rumor has all but dissipated.

History:
  Coming from a family known for producing dark fawns, Kirin was expected to follow suit and be born dark like the rest of his family, however from the moment he arrived it seemed the gods has something else in store for him.

  Born on a cool spring morning, he was welcomed into his family's loving embrace without question. Though his parents never put much stock into the idea of coat colors deciding a fawnling's destiny, always telling their children to believe in themselves and to put their all into whatever they love, they could not help but see his color as an omen of some kind.

  In his early, formative years, Kirin was easily found eagerly helping his mother and siblings with simple tasks, like grooming, or taking a flower to a sick friends, things of that caliber. These events are undeniably the foundation that would cement his desire to help others as he grew. As years flew by, taking flowers to sick friends became bringing herb bundles from dangerous locales, play fights became fending off dangerous birds from young fawns. A few lower tiers soldiers took a vested interest him, though they quickly learned how ravenous he was with their teachings as he devoured every scrap they had. Overwhelmed by his zeal, he was left in the care of Mazin, an older commander who oversaw his time as a recruit. The first thing the pair did however was take their pilgrimage to the Five Trees, joining the fireseers there in their prayers, listening extensively to the lore of the gods, their interpretations of the omens, and there Kirin continued working with his magic, perfecting it to the best of his ability for a young stag—like any good Silverthorne should. It was on this pilgrimage that Kirin found the same necklace he would wear daily, latching onto the words of a fireseer who claimed that it was clearly a gift from Adhar who watched over them from the clear sky above.

  Years flew by and his parents couldn't have been prouder of his achievements when Kirin survived his training, officially joined the army as a soldier at the age of ten. However he as not content with his lot and with fire burning in his gut, Kirin set his eyes higher, allowing his ambition to soar. These lofty goals caught the attention of his former teacher who offered to continue to overseeing his progress, wanting to see the boy succeed, seeing something within him. Under Mazin's continued tutelage, Kirin has already received his first promotion: lieutenant.
