Here's the step-by-step on how I created Cherries

1.) Very rough sketch, just to see where to place everything.
2.) Lineart over the rough sketch
3.) Laid down some colors and then merged the lineart layer over the color layer
4.) Began painting some detail and deciding what direction I wanted the shading to be.
5.) Started to add some highlights to the hair, I wanted it to have different shades of the minty-green throughout
6.) Added some shadows to the hair, along with more highlights! ' v '
7.) even moooore highlights. I really wanted the hair to have a really shiny look to it. I also added color to the eyes, shaded the cherries, and shaded some areas with dark purple. I like using purple in order to add more depth to areas I want to stand out more.
8.) Touched up some of the edges and added some lighting effects! I didn't create the background, it came from a texture that I used. Rendered with some blur on the edges and it's done!
