I like the grey screenshot, but don' care for the min/max/close buttons.

Wonderful theme! Easy on the eye, gentle but not too sweet, with nice scrollbars. How can anyone want this heavenly blue of the taskbar to be grey???

yeah the taskbar and jumplist, make them grey.
Minx Max Close, might want to make them like X2 Crystal or Gizdom vs, with smaller than normal button width.

I'm currently working on some ideas for next releases. Grey suits the theme well, and those min/max/close style buttons too.

stormwind3 [2010-05-22 13:07:03 +0000 UTC]

uh..its kinda nice. But the min max close buttons don't look too good IMHO. And could you make it grey (neutral)? blue kinda doesn't match with some wallpapers.

Are you talking about the taskbar?

And for the min/max/close buttons? Any suggestions?

I like your work!
I just wonder which font do you use for text in picture above. I'll look neat as default font with minimal white pastel theme like this one

It's "Champagne and Limousines".

It is also the logo's font.

I'm currently not using Vista, so i can't port it. If someone wants todo it, i would be nice.

Can this work in non-aero system? it seems your start menu is semi-transparent

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AppliArt In reply to tytung [2010-05-22 12:31:52 +0000 UTC]

It is an Aero theme, but i'm working on a basic version.

Zaxy [2010-05-21 17:09:25 +0000 UTC]

I actually like this quite a bit. Not to sure about the min/max/close buttons though.

Also, you're not trying to sell it to an investor or anything, so I would tone down the language just a little bit

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AppliArt In reply to Zaxy [2010-05-21 17:20:59 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Any suggetions about the min/max/close buttons?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zaxy In reply to AppliArt [2010-05-21 20:31:51 +0000 UTC]

I'm not too sure to be honest, maybe just a light frame around each one? it's not intuitive where the borders end as it is.

You might want to make the title bars the same colour as the taskbar too?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

allenrb2 [2010-05-21 15:51:12 +0000 UTC]

It definitely is, um, simple, but far from something revolutionary enough for me to think it has revolutionized my windows experience. Not to mention poor design choices like the scroll bar have me running away from this theme screaming for help.

Oh, and if you don't want criticism don't make something mediocre and call it the best thing ever created, since man himself.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

TheLittlestFrog In reply to allenrb2 [2010-05-22 03:27:00 +0000 UTC]

Just passed by this theme and all I have to say is, really?

Constructive criticism is a fundamental part of the art world, but I see a lot more condescending stabs than constructive points here. You've pointed out an area of improvement, and your observation is valid, but you stated it in a way that just makes you look like the enemy.

It's simply unnecessary and cruel to claim that the theme left you "screaming for help", that doesn't help him improve anything. Elaborate a little on these so-called "poor design choices" and actually attempt to introduce the artist to possible flaws instead of just tearing it down only because he claimed it was an excellent theme and you disagree with that. An artist is allowed to have pride in their work, especially on something as technical and finicky as a theme, and they shouldn't be put down based on that.

There are still some small problems with the scrollbars, which will be fixed in the next release. But you can say that this visual style is different, at least.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

allenrb2 In reply to AppliArt [2010-05-21 16:03:00 +0000 UTC]

Of course it is, and it is not at all bad, I was just immediately put off by the claims of how amazingly superior your theme is to the many great themes out there.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AppliArt In reply to allenrb2 [2010-05-21 16:03:59 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, maybe I will need to make some subtle changes to that than.
