First, I need to say "Great Job".
Excellent choice of colors. The green background helps the main colors of the creature to stand out. The feathers have a lot of detail, this help to make your work look more realistic. You did a really good job with the light and shadows, specially on the face of the creature because it makes the viewers focus on it. The rest of the creature's body such as the tail and the paws, they also look great.
I really like the combination of red, white and black that you used on the wings. The most interesting part about this work is that it has really cool colors and a really cool composition that attract your attention and it makes you keep looking at it.

Thank you very much for the critique! I spent a lot of time to create a good composition, indeed.

To describe this in a word; Enchanting.

Thage is so beautifully painted, with such immense detail, it's just astounding.
The light to the right is simply done beautifully and is even reflected in the creature's strangely emotional looking eyes. The little specks in the light also plays a very good role in making the picture look much more natural as well.

The strange animal that features in this image looks like some sort of hybrid of a kestrel (or some sort of bird of paradise) and a fox, but the anatomy on the legs also reminds me of a microraptor. The techniques used on both the fur and the feathers really make this animal seem almost real, almost like it could really exist.

It's a good effect to put less detail on the background, which definately draws the attention the main subject of the painting.

Now, for it's flaws; a critique wouldn't be complete without a full analasys.
The texture of the tree doesn't seem quite real. I think it may be helpful to put a few darker tones on the bark, and maybe osme small scratch marks where the creature's claws are, maybe even some moss or some sort of fungal matter would really bring this tree to life, though the twisting ivy was a very fitting choice.

Overall, this clearly is a masterpiece, and I can definately tell that a lot of care went into every digital brush stroke.
I hope the artist continues to create more beautiful works like this in future.

First of all I think this looks very visually appealing with a nice color balance and a both bright and natural looking character design. Looks like you put a great amount of effort into this drawing.

That said I think the character's neck looks a bit too long compared to the rest of the body, and it's twisted too far in a somewhat awkward angle.
The tree could also use a rougher texture as it is very smooth compared to the detail level on the character.
Lastly I think the highlights are a bit too white compared to the surroundings. This is especially apparent on the front paw/talon, and it would probably look better if you made the highlights more bright green like the beams of light with only a few close to white points of light on the focus points.

But I think you did a great job with this and I can see a great amount of improvement from your past drawings. Keep up the good work!

LMAO birds can turn their necks/heads to mereley 270Β°, so its not awkward. and basides, even if you think its awkward, it is a fantasy art, so expect anything to happen ^^ i agree that the tree is too soft. wait what?! what do you expect when a metal (i think) is hit by sunlight? LOL of course it will reflect! haha good critique though

This one's neck looks a lot more like that of a mammal than a bird, which is why I think it looks a bit awkward. And even fantasy art has to follow some rules to look good, so I can't say I agree with you there.
I never said the light shouldn't reflect. I said the highlights looked too white compared to the surroundings and the greenish beams of light, that's all.

lol you said the twisteed angle makes the neck awkward!! xD yeah i agree that fantasy art has to follow some rules to look good, of course but of course fantasy is limitless.

what happens in a reflection? of course it would look too white lol

You know a reflection is the result of light bouncing back towards the viewers eyes, right? Here the light is bright green, so the reflected light should be so too. It's just how light works.
